The CFL has seen some wild results over the past few weeks shake up the standings. With the race outside of the top three heating up, there will be some interesting maneuvering taking place before the postseason starts.

Let’s dive into the matchups happening in week twelve so you can bet against their CFL betting odds as their odds have shifted a fair bit since last week.

Montreal Alouettes at Winnipeg Blue Bombers

This is a good measuring stick for the Alouettes. Montreal has won four straight games against teams below them in the standings. That stretch was preceded by three losses to B.C., Toronto, and Winnipeg, which are the three best teams in the league.

The Alouettes have found a majority of their defense on defense. Montreal has the top passing defense, limiting opponents to 227.4 yards per game. The Alouettes also have the second-best scoring defense, averaging 19.9 points per game. Winnipeg is 8-2 overall this season but only 5-5 against the spread.

The Blue Bombers escaped with a one-point win over Calgary last week but will see the return of Zach Collaros at quarterback this week. Collaros has passed for 2,298 yards with 16 touchdowns and six interceptions this season.

Calgary Stampeders at Toronto Argonauts

The Stampeders are the only team that has knocked off Toronto this season. Calgary scored a 20-7 upset win on Aug. 4. Repeating the feat will be a lot more difficult on the road. 

The Stampeders have lost four of their past five games and have struggled to put up points. Calgary is sixth in the league by scoring 21.7 points per game. Toronto has scored 30 or more points in all seven of their victories this season.

The Argonauts lead the league by scoring 33.5 points per game. Toronto has a 7-1 record against the spread this season. The Argonauts won’t struggle to win this game, but Calgary will keep it close.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats at B.C. Lions

Vernon Adams Jr. has been one of the league’s more dynamic passes in the CFL this season. B.C. was limited at times last week because Adams’ mobility has been limited by an injury he suffered earlier in the season. Hamilton has struggled with inconsistent play at quarterback, being forced to start three different players due to injury, and hasn’t moved the ball well at all this year.

This matchup will be difficult for the Tiger-Cats because B.C. will punish any extra possessions that Hamilton provides with points. The Lions will score enough to push this one over the total.

Ottawa Redblacks at Edmonton Elks

The Redblacks took a devastating one-point loss to Montreal last week, which marked their fourth consecutive loss. Ottawa has seen Dustin Crum be inconsistent under center. Crum passed for 130 yards and an interception in the loss last week. Crum has been held to under 200 yards passing in three of the past four weeks.

Ottawa is desperate, however, to grab another win. The Elks did win for the first time last week, but Edmonton still has plenty of issues of its own. Edmonton is 1-9 this season straight up and 4-6 against the spread. The Elks only scored seven points in their previous meeting with Ottawa and will likely struggle to score again.
