MLB Playoffs Betting Preview for the Weekend Division Series Matches

MLB Playoffs Betting Preview for the Weekend Division Series Matches

The Wild Card series are done and dusted, so now we move on to the Divisional Series in both leagues in the MLB. The action has already begun, but you can bet that we will all be tuning in over the weekend to see how things play out. Can the defending champions win and move on as they look to defend their World Series crown, or will we see upsets be the order of the day? We are all going to need to tune in and see, but one thing that we can almost certainly guarantee is that there will be some fireworks. Let’s take a look at the Divisional Games for the weekend so you don’t miss your chance to bet against the MLB Odds, keeping in mind that some series might be over before we get to Sunday.

2022 ALDS and NLDS Weekend Games to Bet On | MLB Lines

Friday, October 14

The day will begin with the Cleveland Guardians and New York Yankees playing the second game of their series. This was actually meant to happen on Thursday, but the game was postponed and will now go off at 1:07 PM EST. It is the Yankees who have a 1-0 lead in this series.

Atlanta and Philadelphia are all tied up at 1-1 in their series, so we will have at least 2 more games before this one is decided. Philly won Game 1 and guaranteed themselves a split, but can they take advantage of home field on Friday? Game 2 is set to go at 4:37 PM EST.

Finally, we have the Dodgers and Padres playing Game 3 of their series, which is also all tied up at 1-1. This one will begin at 8:37 PM EST, with the winner very much set to get the upper hand in the series.

Saturday, October 15

The first game of the day will be Game 3 between the Braves and the Phillies, with one of these teams set to clinch the series. This is a series that most of us expected Atlanta to win, but they could be up against it if they lose on Friday.

It helps to take advantage of your home games in the playoffs, which is exactly what the Houston Astros did, winning both games against the Seattle Mariners in their own building. They will head to Seattle for a 4:07 PM EST game and a chance to close things out.

At 7:37 PM EST, we will have the Yankees and Guardians playing Game 3. If the Yankees can get the win at home on Friday, they could be looking at the sweep here.

Finally, we will have Game 4 of the Dodgers/Padres series going at 9:37 PM EST. The winner of Game 3 will be coming into this one with a shot at winning and moving on. Can the Padres take advantage of home field and spring the upset?

Sunday, October 16

The only game that has a time set for Sunday is Game 4 between the Astros and Mariners. That one is set to begin at 3:07 PM EST, but as we mentioned earlier, there is a good chance that this game may not even be necessary. The same rules apply for the other 3 series in the Divisional Round, all of which could be done by the time we get to Sunday. If they are not finished, be sure to check the schedule for updated start times for the remaining games.
