MotoGP 2022 San Marino Grand Prix Betting Favorites, Analysis & Prediction

In the world of motor sports, we expect there to be fast-paced excitement, but you have to say that MotoGP always does a great job of delivering the goods in terms of the battle for the World Championship. It’s the same old story in 2022, as we have a tight race going on at the top of the rider standings. There are 7 races still to come in the season, so plenty of time for fortunes to change and a ride to come from off the pace to make things even tighter at the top of the standings. As it stands now, it’s beginning to look like a 2-horse race, with just 13 points separating the top two. That said, I wouldn’t totally count out a couple of other riders. For now, let’s look ahead to the San Marino Grand Prix this weekend and who might be among the leaders so you can bet against their MotoGP Odds.

MotoGP Betting Analysis for the 2022 Gran Premio Gryfyn di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini Race

Fabio Quartararo

One championship win is great but delivering two in consecutive seasons is a sign that a rider is at the top of his game. As it stands at the moment, Quartararo is on pace to manage that feat if he can maintain his consistency all the way through to the final lap in the final race of the season. His lead at the top has been cut down of late, as he has failed to win in each of the last 3 races after winning 3 of 6. In this most recent run, he also failed to finish in the Netherlands, which cost him valuable points. This is a race where he might be expected to be back among the big points, as he has finished 2nd in 2 of his last 3 runs in San Marino.

Francesco Bagnaia

Winning a championship often happens when a ride gets hot at just the right time. Bagnaia is in the zone at the moment after winning each of the last 3 races. In fact, he has now won each of the last 5 races he has finished, with 3 races where he was forced to retire stuck in between. Those lost points might prove to be critical if this thing stays close all the way to the finish. Bagnaia finished 2nd overall last season and seems determined to go one better this time around. Bagnaia won in San Marino last season, so it would not be a surprise to see him extend his win streak.

Aleix Espargaro

As we mentioned earlier, the top 2 riders have opened up a bit of a gap, but there are a couple trailing behind who could get back into it with a strong finish to the season. Espargaro is sitting 3rd overall, 57 points out of the lead. It’s a big gap, but with 7 races to come, it is not out of the question for Espargaro to get back in it. That said, he needs to start winning, with his lone win of the season coming early in the season.

Brad Binder

Binder is currently sitting down in 4th, 17 points back of Espargaro in 3rd. Binder started the season strong with a 2nd place showing in Qatar in the opening race of the year. Since then, though, he has failed to win or even get on the podium, so his chances of running down the leaders seems slim. He hasn’t really delivered the goods in San Marino, so I’d be looking elsewhere for the winner this weekend.
