Memphis At San Antonio NBA Expert Predictions

Written by on April 3, 2017

If anyone was expecting there to be major surprises in the NBA Western Conference this season, they will have already been disappointed. There has been no shift in the balance of power in the West, as it is once again the Golden State Warriors and San Antonio Spurs that are proving to be the cream of the crop, by a ridiculously comfortable margin. These two teams have had their playoff tickets, as well as the #1 and #2 seeds, punched for quite some time now, but both are still finishing the regular season off in some style. The next game up for the San Antonio Spurs is a home tilt versus the Memphis Grizzlies, a team that has seen their stock fall quite dramatically over the past few weeks. They have slipped down to the #7 seed in the West, which would mean a fist round playoff series against the Spurs. This may be a good test for the Grizzlies to see where they stand heading into that potential series. Find the latest NBA betting lines here.

Why bet on the Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies (42-35) may not be playing their best ball at the moment, but they can make a claim that very few teams in the NBA are able to make, and that is that they have beaten the Spurs twice already this season. As good as that achievement is, we still need to remember that both of those wins came in their own building. The third meeting between these two, which was played in San Antonio, went the way of the Spurs. The Grizzlies have not been awful on the road, though, and are sitting just 2-games below .500 away from home. If they could pick up the win here, they might plant some seeds of doubt in the minds of the Spurs ahead of a potential opening round meeting.

Why bet on the San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs (59-17) are just not a team that drops an awful lot of games at home during the course of a season. They are an incredible 30-8 at home this season, and while there is the possibility that they may rest some of their key players on Tuesday night, they still seem able to find a way to get the win on home court. The Spurs are not one of those team that rack up the wins against lesser opponents, as they are a very impressive 23-11 versus teams with a winning record this season. You also need to go back to 2014 to find the last time the Grizzles got a win in San Antonio.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

The Spurs are locked in to the #2 seed, so there is always the possibility that they may let up a little in their final few games of the season. I just don’t see that happening, though.
