2022-2023 College Basketball – Best Bets For Friday

Written by on December 2, 2022

The weekend is finally upon us, and what better way to get things rolling than with placing some bets on college basketball tonight? As we do every week, we have combed through the schedule for Friday night and come up with some picks that we think will add some money to the bankroll. We have a pair of picks against the spread, as well as a couple more with the point total. It was a bit of a mixed bag last week with out picks, as we went 2-2, so let’s see if we can improve on that this week.

The best games for your NCAAB betting

Northeastern Huskies at Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (-12)

With this game, the safe bet would be to take Georgia Tech straight up, as I think they look like a shoo-in. We want some more value than that, though, so let’s take a closer look at the spread. Going back to last season, Northeastern has not been a very good pick against the spread, covering in just 6 of their last 20 games. They are also 1-4 ATS in their last 5 Friday night road games. Tech has been a much safer bet, covering the spread in 9 of their last 13, a stat that I think they improve on tonight.

Baylor Bears Vs Gonzaga Bulldogs (-1 ½)

This looks to me to be one of the best games of the night, as this is a pair of teams who look to be very evenly matched. The bookies seem to agree since they have this as a tight one, with Gonzaga in as a very modest 1 ½ point favorite. Both teams are sitting on the same 5-2 record right now, and since this is a neutral site game, home court advantage goes right out the window. Neither team has really impressed against the spread this season, and when you consider that the Bulldogs are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games, this seems like a risky pick, but it’s one that I’m willing to take.

Texas-Arlington Mavericks at LSU Tigers – OVER 131

This looks like it could well be a bit of a lopsided affair, with the LSU Tigers in as a pretty firm favorite. At 6-1 on the season, the Tigers are off to a very good start, and they will almost certainly pick up their 7th win of the season on Friday night against a Mavericks team playing .500 ball through their opening 8 games. The question here, though, is what will happen with the point total. All signs seem to point to the OVER, as that is how things have gone for LSU in 4 of their last 5 home games versus a team with a losing record.

NIU Huskies at Idaho Vandals – UNDER 145 ½

This is one that could, when looking at the trends, go either way. There are certainly arguments to be made for picking either outcome, but I am taking a chance on the UNDER, based mostly on what has happened with these teams in Friday night games. For the Huskies, they have seen 3 of their last 4 Friday games go UNDER, while the Vandals have seen 9 of their last 13 Friday night games go that same route.
