Another weekend and another busy Friday night schedule in the world of college basketball. With so many games to choose from, it can be tough to narrow things down to a few potential winners, but that is what we try to do every single Friday. As always, we have a couple of picks against the spread, as well as a couple more with the point total. Once again, we went 2-2 with our picks last Friday, so we will be looking to do better this time around. With that in mind, let’s get to the picks for Friday night, December 9.
Friday Night Schedule of College Basketball.
Washington Huskies (+16 ½) at Gonzaga Bulldogs
It has been something of an up and down start to the season for the Gonzaga Bulldogs, who come into this one sitting at 6-3. On the brighter side of things, they have been very good at home and are currently a perfect 3-0 in their own building. The Huskies have a very respectable 7-2 record on the season, but in true road games, they are 0-1. I would expect the Huskies to lose on the road tonight, but I do think they can keep it a little closer. After all, Gonzaga is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite.
Lipscomb Lions (-10) at Alabama A&M Bulldogs
Very often, bettors will stick to teams or conferences that they know when it comes time to place their wagers, but we are stepping outside the box and looking at a game between a pair of lesser lights. Lipscomb is off to a 6-2 start to the season, although both of their losses have come on the road this season. It has been a rough start to the year for the Bulldogs, who are currently sitting at 2-5, while also posting a losing record in their own building. Lipscomb has been a fantastic bet against the spread, going 6-1 ATS in recent games. They should be able to improve upon that tonight.
Grambling State Tigers at Vanderbilt Commodores – UNDER 138
Both teams are off to winning starts this season, but it does look as though Vanderbilt has the toughest path ahead, with the SEC looking strong with 7 teams sitting on 1 loss or less. The Commodores are currently at 5-4 on the season, while their opponents tonight, the Grambling State Tigers, are sitting at 5-3. Neither of these teams are what you would call an offensive juggernaut, so I don’t expect there will be a ton of offense. In fact, the Tigers have seen the UNDER hit in 8 of their last 10 games played away from home.
Arkansas State Red Wolves at Air Force Falcons – UNDER 120 ½
On a busier Friday night, this is a game that I may have glossed over and moved on to the next. The point total here is low, which you would expect from a pair of teams that play defense first, but is it too low? The trends would certainly seem to suggest that the UNDER is very much the way to go with this one. In fact, the Red Wolves have seen the UNDER hit in each of their last 7 games, although no total was as low as this one. Still, I think it’s worth a chance to play the UNDER again here.
