Betting Tips for Tuesday Night’s College Hoops Action

Written by on November 28, 2022

Now that we’re through with all of the Thanksgiving tournaments, it’s time to get back to regular-season basketball. With some conferences gearing up to start conference games soon, teams are getting their final tune-up games in.

This week, we will see an intriguing set of games in the Big 10-ACC Challenge. The schedule makers have done a nice job of making some great matchups in this annual series.

Let’s take a look at a few games that you may want to bet on during Tuesday night’s slate of games.

College Basketball Week 4 Season 2022-2023

Syracuse Orange @ Illinois Fighting Illini

This one is intriguing because of the different styles of play. Syracuse will fall back into their signature 2-3 zone, while Illinois will use their supreme athleticism to play good, hard defense and run the floor. Illinois isn’t a great three-point shooting team, so that could be a detriment in this one.

Syracuse comes into this one at 3-3. They’ve already lost to Bryant, Colgate, and St. Johns this season, and their best win has come against Richmond. Syracuse has yet to play many strong opponents, so that will go against them when they head to Champaign on Tuesday.

As for the Illini, they’ve beaten UCLA and lost to Virginia in their two toughest matchups of the season. This is a very athletic team that has added numerous transfers this season.

Terrence Shannon, Jr. has been good for Illinois since coming from Texas Tech. He, along with Dain Dainja, Skyy Clark, and Coleman Hawkins, has put together a great start to the season.

As long as they’re not too heavily favored, we see Illinois running away with this one. Their athleticism will just be way too much for Syracuse to handle. If Syracuse can’t handle Bryant and Colgate, we can’t see them being able to beat Illinois. Illinois wins this one by double digits.

Bellarmine Knights @ Kentucky Wildcats

Bellarmine has already shown that they aren’t scared to play tough competition. They’ve already faced Louisville, UCLA, Duke, and Clemson, and now they’ll head to Lexington to face the Kentucky Wildcats.

Like many of John Calipari’s teams in the past, the Wildcats don’t seem to gel until later in the season. This team has had its ups and downs already in this young season, but we know that they’ll be ready come tournament time.

Bellarmine only has two wins on the season, but they play a unique style of basketball. Bellarmine doesn’t dribble, and their offense is predicated by ball movement, so it can be a little difficult to defend. This will be something that could give Kentucky’s defense some issues.

In playing some of the top schools in the country, Bellarmine has only been blown out once, and that wasn’t even by a Power 5 school. Carefully monitor the spread in this one, as UCLA beat them by 21 the other night. They lost by 17 to Duke at Cameron.

Their style will pose a threat to Kentucky, and we’re not sure how well Calipari’s group will be prepared for it this early in the season. Kentucky will win, but we’re not sure if they’ll be able to cover a spread that could be rather large.
