March Madness Odds: Favorites/Upsets in this 2024 Season Before Final 4

At this year’s 2024 NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament Final Four, the Purdue Boilermakers take on the NC State Wolfpack and the UConn Huskies throw down against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Heading into the Final Four, NC State is the longest shot on the board to win the title, Bama is third choice, Purdue is second, and the Huskies are the chalk.

NC State’s Cinderella Run Continues

The NC State sealed the deal on ACC rival Duke in an amazing Final Four run. NC State scored 76 to Duke’s 64.

Big DJ Burns Jr. was good on 13-of-19 to pace the Wolfpack. Burns Jr. scored 29 points. DJ Horne, NC State’s electric guard, dropped 20. Horne and Burns Jr. will be counted on to tackle Zach Edey and Braden Smith this Saturday. If Horne and Burns Jr. continue their lights out play, NC State will be in the final game on Monday night.

Alabama Upsets North Carolina to Score Final Four Trip

At halftime of their game against North Carolina, the Alabama Crimson Tide were down by 8 points. Bama turned it around in the second half rallying to win the frame 43-33 and beating North Carolina 89-87.

Bama’s run will end on Saturday. Although Alabama has had a fantastic season and even better NCAA Tournament, the Crimson Tide does not matchup well with UConn. Not only can Connecticut score, but the Huskies play the best defense of any team in the nation. Alabama will go home with their heads held high after securing the program’s first ever Final Four berth.

Edey Drops 40 to Pace Purdue over Tennessee

Edey’s 40 points are the reason the Purdue Boilermakers made it to the Final Four. Without Edey’s terrific play, the Tennessee Volunteers would have upset the Boilermakers in Purdue’s close 72-66 win.

Edey and Purdue have yet to play a team of NC State’s quality, though. The Wolfpack matchup well with the Boilermakers. So Edey and his mates must be on their best games. If Purdue does get by NC State, beating UConn is a longshot.

UConn Scores 30 Straight to Bury Illinois

UConn was up 28-23 against Illinois in the first half. In the second half, the Huskies provided one of the most incredible runs in NCAA Tournament history.

UConn scored 30 straight against Illinois to send the Illini packing 77-52. The incredible 49 points the Huskies scored in the second half versus a top defensive team shows that when UConn is on, they’re the best college basketball team on the planet. There is no way Connecticut doesn’t get it done on Saturday against Bama. Then, a win over NC State or Purdue on Monday night will ensure their second straight title.
