Wildcats Will Take on Kansas

In the first game of the Final Four, the Villanova Wildcats will take on the Kansas Jayhawks. The Wildcats come into this one with a 30-7 overall record.

The winner of the Big East Tournament, Villanova, has been a fixture in the top 10 for most of the season. They are led by the two-time Big East Player of the Year, Collin Gillespie.

Villanova is a +600 to win the National Championship and are 4.5-point underdogs in their game against Kansas. The Villanova program has made it to six Final Fours.

This is the 10th-most in NCAA history. Entering this Final Four, Villanova has won two of the last six NCAA Tournaments. They’re currently on a nine-game winning streak and are playing their best basketball of the season.

Villanova Led By Head Coach Jay Wright

One of the reasons that Villanova is always a title contender is because of their head coach, Jay Wright. Wright is arguably the best coach in college basketball today.

He recruits the kind of players that fit his system, and he gets the most out of his players. His style of play and his focus on fundamentals makes Villanova a national powerhouse.

Teams that rank highly in the KenPom rankings usually do well in the NCAA Tournament. This holds true for Villanova. They’re ranked in the top 10 in offensive efficiency and in the top 20 in defensive efficiency.

They rank ninth overall in the KenPom efficiency rankings. They’re very good on both ends of the floor, and they make very few mistakes.

Villanova will have the most experienced team left in the field. Many of Jay Wright’s players, including Gillespie, have taken advantage of the extra year of eligibility and are in their fifth season.
