College Basketball 2022-2023 : Top 25 Analysis and Betting Opportunities

Written by on November 28, 2022

We have now concluded week three of the NCAA Basketball season, and things are becoming more and more clear by the day. A clear number one team in the nation has emerged, while some others are showing that they may not have been worthy of being so highly regarded. Here is what to look for from the week four AP Poll and what opportunities you can take advantage of this week. We bring you all the details for your NCAAB bets.

College Basketball Week 4 Season 2022-2023

The Top Spot

Now that the North Carolina Tar Heels have played with fire one too many times and will likely fall out of the top ten. Carolina fell to the Iowa State Cyclones on Friday night and Alabama on Sunday evening in four overtimes. They continued their lackluster play against the number. Hubert Davis’ group has fallen to just 1-6 against the spread on the season while underperforming the number by -7.2 points per contest. The Heels will now have to face the Hoosiers of Indiana on Wednesday in a true road game. UNC is 5-4-1 ATS following a loss under Davis.

Houston will likely inherit the top spot despite a nail-biter against Kent State on Saturday. Houston has looked like the best team in the nation all season thus far and has a fairly easy week but cannot overlook Saint Marys on Saturday.

Top 15 Teams to Watch in Week Four

The slates do not lighten up following feast week as week four brings us the ACC/B1G challenge. Duke is the team to watch here as they host the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Blue Devils are just 4-5 against the number this season and are underperforming the spread by -1.3 points per game. However, Duke is 3-1 ATS at home this season and outperforming the spread by +8.0 points having not played a team currently within the KenPom top 150. The Buckeyes may break into the top 25 this week just in time for their first true road game of the season.

The Connecticut Huskies have established themselves as a player this season after defeating both Oregon and Alabama in consecutive games. The Huskies could move up even further if they score a victory over Iowa State on Sunday night and will have a couple more resume-building opportunities this week when they play Oklahoma State and Florida. The Huskies are one of the best teams in the nation against the spread this season at 6-0-1 heading into Sunday night and should receive a good hard look from bettors when they host the Cowboys on Thursday night.

Teams in the 20’s

Look for Tennessee to make the biggest jump of the week after winning the Battle for Atlantis. The Vols were ranked 22nd in the nation in week three and will likely land within the top eight on Monday evening when the polls are released. Rick Barnes has figured his team out following the stunning loss to Colorado and now looks like a legitimate title contender. Look for the Vols to lay down some whoopings when they host McNeese State and Alcorn State this week.
