We shouldn’t even count the win over Stetson. Sure, UConn played great, but Stetson was the lowest seeded team in the tournament. The Hatters had no shot of keeping up with the best team in the nation.
The one stat that separates UConn from every team in the tournament is that their last loss came against 3-seed Creighton on February 20. UConn, even though they play in a good conference, the Big East, has won 8 straight. Overall, the Huskies went 23-3 during the regular season.

Northwestern’s 3-guard lineup is great. Also, it worked well versus a team like Florida Atlantic that doesn’t have much size after Golden, but against UConn, things won’t go so well.
Center Donovan Clingan is one of the best in the nation. He will dominate the pain against the smaller Wildcats. If for some reason Clingan doesn’t dominate the paint, Dan Hurley will turn to his superstar guards Tristan Newton and Cam Spencer.
The Huskies are the most complete, well-coached, and cohesive bunch in the 2024 NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament. UConn won’t bow out this early, breaking Northwestern’s glass slipper as they move on to the Sweet 16 in a dominant win.
