UConn’s top freshman recruit, guard James Bouknight, was suspended for the first three games of the regular season. He was arrested for an on-campus vehicular incident in the early hours of Sept. 27. Police say he left the scene but later turned himself in. He was charged with evading responsibility, interfering with a police officer, traveling too fast for conditions and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Bouknight will be eligible to return Nov. 21 against Buffalo in the Charleston Classic in South Carolina. Here’s a look at two early-week College Basketball betting games. Check back for Mybookie NCAAB odds.

No. 15 Oregon vs. No. 14 Memphis

  • When: Tuesday, 9 PM ET
  • Live Stream: WatchESPN

Technically a neutral-site game from the Moda Center in Portland, home to the NBA’s Trail Blazers, but obviously it’s essentially an Oregon home game not too far from campus. It’s part of the inaugural Phil Knight Invitational. Knight is the co-founder of Nike and a native Oregonian. Memphis signed a five-year extension with the athletic apparel company last year, and Tigers coach Penny Hardaway has his own shoe line with the brand.

Oregon and Memphis have never met in men’s basketball. There will be a handful of future NBA players on the court in this one, led by Memphis freshman center James Wiseman, who might be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Wiseman was ruled ineligible by the NCAA last week but the school got a court injunction that allowed him to play – quite possible that the NCAA vacates every win that Memphis gets while playing Wiseman. Should Hardaway be considered a Memphis booster? The NCAA says absolutely. He donated $1 million to the Memphis athletic department and became its 34th ambassador in 2008, according to the university release at the time. According to NCAA bylaws, that made Hardaway a booster indefinitely, including when he made his $11,500 payment to Wiseman’s mother for moving expenses in the summer of 2017.

Wiseman had 17 points, nine rebounds and five blocks in the Tigers’ 92-46 rout of UIC on Friday.

Why the Ducks should be your College Basketball Betting Pick?

The Ducks come off a 106-75 rout of Boise State. Anthony Mathis set a home school record with nine three-pointers (part of his career-high 30 points), while as a team the Ducks shot an arena-record 70.0 percent from the field (42-of-60). Those marks were just off the overall school records of 10 three-pointers and 71.0 field goal percentage. UNLV transfer Shakur Juiston had a career-high nine assists to go with 16 points against Boise State.

Senior Payton Pritchard has a chance to break a number of school career records, including steals, assists, wins and games played. He currently has 169 steals and 501 assists. Kenya Wilkins (1993-97) currently holds the records in both categories (213 steals, 614 assists) and both are well within Pritchard’s reach.

No. 10 Villanova at No. 18 Ohio State

This is part of the 2019 Gavitt Games. This is the third time Ohio State has played in the event and the fifth year overall for the games between the Big Ten and Big East. The event honors Dave Gavitt, founder of the Big East. These teams last met in the Maui Invitational Nov. 26, 2003, a 67-66 win for the Buckeyes, who are 2-1 in the all-time series with the Wildcats.

While coaching in the Big East at Butler, current Ohio State coach Chris Holtmann earned a pair of wins vs. Villanova while the Wildcats were ranked No. 1 or 2 nationally.

Nova remains without five-star freshman Bryan Antoine as he recovers from surgery to repair a torn labrum in his right (shooting) shoulder on May 31. The 6-foot-5 guard has finally returned to full practice but will not debut by Tuesday. Coach Jay Wright said that he will monitor him closely and won’t consider evaluating a return to game action until after Thanksgiving. Antoine was a Top 20 recruit in the Class of 2019.

Villanova opened its 2019-20 regular season with a 97-54 victory over Army last Tuesday. Jeremiah Robinson-Earl became the first true freshman in Coach Jay Wright’s 19 seasons to record a triple double (24 points, 13 rebounds). Saddiq Bey contributed 22 points, five rebounds and two steals in the win. Cole Swider supplied 18 points off the Nova bench. The Wildcats held Army to 20-of-64 shooting on the night (.313), including 7-of-30 (.233) from beyond the arc and controlled the glass by a 54-26 count.

Why Ohio State should be your College Basketball Betting Pick?

Ohio State is off a 76-56 win over UMass Lowell on Sunday. Kaleb Wesson led five Buckeyes in double figures with his seventh career double-double, going for 13 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. D.J. Carton added 13 points and four assists while Luther Muhammad poured in 11.

Obadiah Noel led UMass Lowell with 15 points while Connor Withers came off the bench to tally a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards. The Buckeyes limited UMass Lowell to 32.8 percent (20-for-61) from the field and 21.7 percent (5-for-23) from 3-point range in the victory.
