Top College Basketball Games Of The Week (Dec. 12 – Dec. 17)

Written by on December 12, 2016

As the end of the year draws ever closer, we get to the point where the non-conference games in the NCAA are about to come to an end. The conference portion of the season is where things tend to really take off in college basketball, but there are still some very good match-ups to watch before we get to that point. This week’ schedule has some excellent games on there, and we are going to take a quick look at just a few of those. After all, with so many games to bet on, it certainly helps to narrow down your online betting choices to just a few.

Analyzing The Top College Basketball Betting Games Of The Week (Dec. 12th – Dec. 17th)

South Carolina Gamecocks at Seton Hall Pirates – Monday December 12

The Gamecocks are currently ranked #19 in the nation, and are coming into the week with a perfect 8-0 record. They have what looks to be a tough match-up versus a Seton Hall team that has won 3 in a row, and which is now 7-2 on the season. The South Carolina Gamecocks have a pair of wins over ranked teams under their belt this season, and while this should be another win, it is also one of those games that has the potential to be a bit of a banana peel for them.

Temple Owls at Villanova Wildcats – Tuesday December 13

At 10-0 on the season so far, it’s no real surprise that the Villanova Wildcats are the number one ranked team in the country. They have made thing look easy so far, but could be in for a bit of a tough on Tuesday when they host a Temple team that has already taken down a pair of ranked teams this season. While wins against Florida State and West Virginia are no guarantee of success versus Nova, it does show that the Owls don’t have any fear when they face ranked foes.

Purdue Boilermakers at Notre Dame Fighting Irish – Saturday December 17

Many of the bigger games this week come on Saturday, and it all begins with #18 Purdue going on the road to face #23 Notre Dame. Both losses that the Boilermakers have taken this season has come against ranked opponents, which may have them at a disadvantage heading into this one. The first loss of the season for Notre Dame Fighting Irish came last weekend when they went down in a very competitive game against top-ranked Villanova, who have also beaten Purdue this season.

North Carolina Tar Heels at Kentucky Wildcats – Saturday December 17

This may well be the match-up most deserving of the “Game of the Week” label, as it features a pair of teams starting this week in the top 10. Both teams are coming into the week with just a single loss under their belts, and both teams took losses to other ranked teams. Both have gone 1-1 versus ranked opponents this season, and while Kentucky have a better PPG average than the Tar Heels, their other numbers are very, very similar. This should be a fun one to watch and wager on.
