Vanderbilt vs Texas A&M NCAAB Betting Report

Written by on March 3, 2016

If you could choose one conference to perfectly mirror what has gone on nationally this season, it would most likely be the SEC. This is a conference that no-one seems to want to win, as getting to the top usually results in a string of losses to follow. For a while it looked as though Texas A&M might be the team that was going to run away with the conference, but they hit a major bump in the road that sent them spiraling downward. As we head into the final game of the regular season, the Aggies are now tied with Kentucky for the top spot in the SEC, which means it’s all to play for on Saturday. Texas A&M have a tricky one to look forward to, as they will be welcoming in a Vanderbilt team that has already taken them down this season. Can they get their revenge, or are they doomed to end the season with a loss that might cost them the regular season championship? That is what you have to try and figure out before placing your NCAAB online betting wagers.

Why bet on Vanderbilt Commodores

While all eyes in the SEC have been on the Aggies and the Kentucky Wildcats, the Vanderbilt Commodores (19-11, 11-6) have very quietly been creeping back into contention. They have won 4 in a row, and 6 of their last 7, to get within a game of the two teams at the top of the conference. Furthermore, they have been winning in some considerable style, scoring 80-plus points in 5 of those last 6 wins. Perhaps the biggest shot that they fired across the bow came last weekend when they took down Kentucky with an impressive 74-62 display. That was the only win in the last 6 where they did not cross the 80-point mark, but they also proved that they could play defense against one of the best teams in the country. The Commodores are averaging 77.5 PPG, and are giving up 67.1 PPG.

Why bet on Texas A&M Aggies

There were a lot of people, myself included, who predicted that the Aggies (23-7, 12-5) were a dead man walking back in the middle of February. They had lost 4 straight games and 5 of their last 6, and they looked very much like a team that was running on empty. They have proven all the doubters wrong, though, and have bounced back with 5 straight wins, including a massive 79-77 OT win over Kentucky. That one helped put them back on the map in the SEC, and made the pundits recognize that this team still has something to offer. The Aggies know that they are in for a rough ride on Saturday, as they are facing a Vanderbilt team that took them out 77-60 last time out. Texas A&M are averaging 76.2 PPG, and are giving up 65.8 PPG.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

On paper, this may not look like the most exciting game on the schedule this weekend, but I think it has the potential to be a great one. It’s also a game where I think we might see a minor upset, as I like the Commodores to go on the road ad pick up the win.
