JAN 27 - Weekend College Basketball SU Picks That Will Put Money In Your Pocket

College Basketball SU Picks That Will Put Money In Your Pocket

Written by on January 27, 2017

The college basketball season is now in full swing, with February fast approaching, and the jockeying for position continuing in the lead up to March Madness. As is always the case, we have a full slate of games on tap this weekend, which means plenty of opportunities to turn your wagers into cold hard cash. I’ve been having a peek at the upcoming games, and I think I have picked out a few that might result in some winning tickets. I have tried to go with competitive games as opposed to those that look as though they may be one-sided, as this should get us some better NCAA basketball odds.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish over Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets – Saturday

Winning on the road is never easy, especially when you are going up against a team that already has double digit wins in their own building. The Yellow Jackets are 10-3 at home this season, and are coming off a big win versus Florida State. My feeling is that there may be a bit of a letdown after that win. Notre Dame has lost 2 of their last 3 games, but both of those came against ranked opponents. The Irish have yet to lose to an unranked opponent this season, and are a solid 3-1 on the road. I like the Irish to get the win here.

North Carolina Tar Heels at Miami Hurricanes – Saturday

The Tar Heels started their ACC campaign with a loss to Georgia Tech, but since then they have reeled off 6-straight wins to surge to the top of the conference. Now ranked #9 in the nation, the Tar Heels will go on the road to face a Miami Hurricanes team that has been struggling lately, but who still have a very good 9-1 record on home court. This will not necessarily be a slam dunk for North Carolina, but this is a game they should still be good enough to win.

Villanova Wildcats over Virginia Cavaliers – Sunday

The Villanova Wildcats may see their #1 rank slip away after a stunning loss to Marquette in their last outing. That was the second loss of the season for the Wildcats, with both defeats coming on the road. They will be back home, where they remain unbeaten, on Sunday, but will have a tough opponent in the #12 ranked Virginia Cavaliers. Virginia are 6-1 on the road, and they will put up a good fight here, but I do still think they will fall a little short, as I don’t foresee Villanova losing back to back games.

Arizona Wildcats over Washington Huskies – Sunday

Let’s finish the weekend with what I believe is a total gimme pick. The Wildcats are winners of 12 straight games, including 7 in a row in the Pac-12, which has taken them up to #7 in the nation. The Huskies are just 1-5 in conference play, and should not be able to keep up with the high-flying Wildcats. This is as close to a lock pick as you can get.
