The Musketeers have easily been the second-best team in the Big East, trailing the nation-leading Villanova Wildcats by just 1.5 games. With four more games to go, the Musketeers are thus hopeful of unseating Villanova from the top if they can win out their remaining games (and Nova loses two games), so you can expect Xavier to take this game very seriously. In their last outing, shooting guard Myles Davis notched his first career triple-double of 11 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists to lead the Musketeers to an 85-74 victory over the No. 23 Providence Friars. Against a Georgetown team that is weak both on the offense and defense, you can expect Davis, Trevon Bluiett and Co. to shine once again, possibly en route to a huge win.Why You Should Bet on Georgetown (14-13, 7-7 Big East)
Despite losing five of their last six games (including the last two in a row), the Hoyas tend to play very strongly at home, as was recently witnessed in their 92-67 win over St. John’s, something that could see them give a strong representation this Saturday against Xavier. In addition to their decent home court advantage, the Hoyas have a true superstar in D’Vauntes Smith-Rivera, who leads the team in both points (16.2) and assists per game (4.3). If Smith-Rivera can bring his A-game this Saturday, there is no doubt that the Hoyas will have a chance to hang with Xavier, if not deliver another upset, like they did when they beat Xavier 81-72 on the road earlier in the season.
