These are two teams that have made a habit of losing this season, although there are signs that the Cornhuskers are starting to put things together. They went into their game against Ohio State last weekend on a modest 2-game win streak, and they came very close to springing a major upset, eventually going down 36-31. Illinois broke out of their losing slump with a win over Minnesota in a game that was predictably high-scoring. When you look at the teams left with a shot at getting into the college football playoffs this season, you see a Washington State team that is perhaps the biggest outsider to make it. They need to win out and get a lot of help along the way, but that also means that they will be looking to continue to impress the playoff committee with big wins.
They will be on the road against a slumping Colorado team this weekend with a shot at putting some big numbers on the board. The Cougars have seen the OVER hit in each of their last 5 road games, and I think it might hit again on Saturday.
