In Depth Analysis On The Top College Football Trio Of Week 9 Picks Highlighted

Kentucky at Missouri

When: 12:00 PM ET, Saturday, October 29, 2016
Where: Faurot Field, Columbia, Missouri
TV: SEC Network
Odds: Missouri -4.5

Analysis:
The Kentucky Wildcats (4-3 SU, 4-3 ATS) have played some really good football in winning two straight and four of their last five games overall, including their heart-stopping 40-38 win over Mississippi State on Saturday. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said for Missouri (2-5 SU, 3-4 ATS), which rides a three-game losing streak into this Week 9 SEC showdown after falling to Middle Tennessee 51-45 this past weekend.

Kentucky was lifted to victory as kicker Austin MacGinnis nailed a season-long 51-yard field goal as time expired, but the Wildcats also got a sweet outing from quarterback Stephen Johnson who passed for 292 yards and two TD’s while running back Benjamin Snell Jr. rushed 19 times for 128 yards and one score. Things are really bad in the Show-Me State with Missouri allowing Middle Tennessee quarterback Brent Stockstill to light up their defense for 280 yards and four touchdowns while the Blue Hens rolled up a whopping 584 yards of offense, including 300 rushing yards.

Kentucky beat Mizzou 21-13 at home last season and should be in a great position to do so again, seeing as how the Tigers are giving up passing yards – and points like they’re going out of style these days. Missouri is just 6-13 ATS in its last 19 games and Kentucky is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games. I like the Cats for the outright win!

Pick: Kentucky +4.5 Points

Central Florida at Houston

When: 12:00 PM ET, Saturday, October 29, 2016
Where: TDECU Stadium, Houston, Texas
TV: ESPNU
Odds: Houston -10

Analysis:
I know Central Florida (4-3 SU, 5-2 ATS) has won three of their last four games while Houston (6-2 SU, 4-4 ATS) has had their national championship hopes dashed by losing twice in the last three weeks, but Houston’s frustration is one of the main reasons I like the Cougars to pound the Knights into submission in this contest.

While UCF got a nice 24-16 win over UConn on Saturday and Houston fell to SMU 38-16 in a complete shocker, I’m going to urge you to back the Cougars as they have the better head coach and quarterback in this matchup. While I’m expecting Cougars’ coach Tom Herman to bolt after this season, quarterback Greg Ward Jr. will be the best player on the field in this Week 9 matchup and that alone should be enough to lift Houston to the win and ATS cover against a Central Florida team that is overmatched in all three phases of the game.

Houston rolled to an emphatic 59-10 road win over UCF last season and should duplicate that kind of dominance when they meet in the Lone Star State on Saturday to easily cover the college football betting line. Central Florida has lost seven of its last 10 road games outright while Houston has gone 4-2 ATS in its last six home games.

Pick: Houston -10 Points

No. 10 West Virginia at Oklahoma State

When: 12:00 PM ET, Saturday, October 29, 2016
Where: Boone Pickens Stadium, Stillwater, Oklahoma
TV: FOX
Odds: West Virginia -3

Analysis:
Oklahoma State (5-2 SU, 4-3 ATS) has won three straight games, including their 44-20 beatdown of Kansas on Saturday, but the Cowboys will have their hands full trying to get past unbeaten No. 10 West Virginia (6-0 SU, 3-3 ATS) when they square off in Week 9 on Saturday.

Quarterback Mason Rudolph threw for 220 yards and one touchdown while wide receiver Jalen McCleskey caught six passes for 129 yards and running back Justice Hill ran for 162 yards against the Jayhawks, but West Virginia certainly won’t be so generous which is why they’re my pick to get the win and ATS cover despite being on the road.

West Virginia shut down TCU’s fast-paced offense en route to a commanding 34-10 this past weekend while quarterback Skyler Howard tossed four TD passes in the emphatic win. I know Oklahoma State has its own explosive offense, but West Virginia’s defense is limiting its opponents to just 17.8 point per game this season to rank 15th nationally coming into this matchup. The Mountaineers are just 2-6 ATS in their last eight road games, but the road team in this matchup has won the last two meetings. West Virginia’s defense is outstanding and I believe it will lead them to victory in this Week 9 pairing!

Pick: West Virginia -3 Points
