The 21st-ranked TCU Horned Frogs will look to hold down the fort at home when they host the Oklahoma Sooners in a Big 12 battle on Saturday. Oklahoma was a preseason CFB Playoff favorite but is now unranked after dropping two of their first three games this season. Now, with Sooners looking to hold on to their slim hopes for a Big 12 title, let’s find out if the Sooners have what it takes to pull off the outright online betting upset.

Analyzing The Week 5 College Football Horned Frogs At Sooners Winning Favorites

When: Saturday, October 1, 2016 at 5:00 PM Where: Amon Carter Stadium TV: FOX Live Stream: FOX Sports GO NCAAF Odds: TCU Horned Frogs +2

Bet The Oklahoma Sooners at -2 Because…

The Oklahoma Sooners can score the ball and have just as much talent as TCU. Oklahoma (1-2 SU, 0-3 ATS) will be well-rested after getting a bye in Week 4. Unfortunately, Oklahoma was on the wrong end of a humbling 45-24 loss against Ohio State as a 1.5-point underdog in Week 3 that dropped them to 1-2 on the season. For the season, quarterback Baker Mayfield is completing an impressive 64.7 percent of his passes for 793 yards with seven touchdowns and two interceptions. Mayfield has thrown at least two touchdown passes in 10 of his last 11 games. The Sooners’ powerful rushing attack is averaging 178.3 yards per contest, but the Sooners are ranked a pitiful 93rd nationally in points allowed (31.7 ppg). Oklahoma has won 12 of its last 16 games but is just 1-5 ATS in its last six games.

Bet The TCU Horned Frogs at +2 Because…

The Horned Frogs are explosive offensively and playing at home. TCU (3-1 SU, 1-3 ATS) laid an emphatic 33-3 smackdown on SMU in Week 4 to cover the spread as a 21.5-point road favorite. Quarterback Kenny Hill completed 31 of 45 passes for 452 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Wide receiver John Diarse caught six passes for 139 yards and one score in the win For the season, Hill is completing a blistering 66.1 percent of his passes for 1,487 yards with six touchdowns and four interceptions. The Horned Frogs are ranked 65th in points allowed (26.3 ppg). Texas Christian has won 22 of their last 25 games outright while going 14-5 ATS in their last 19 games at home.

Expert Prediction and Pick

I know the Sooners are playing at home in this Week 5 Big 12 battle, but I’m still trying to figure out why Oklahoma is favored in this contest, seeing as how the Sooners’ defense almost literally can’t stop running water. While Oklahoma has gone 6-1 ATS in their last seven conference games, the Sooners are also 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall while TCU has gone 7-1 ATS in their last eight games in the month of October and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games against the Sooners. While Oklahoma has had an extra week to prepare for this game, but TCU has extra time after playing on Thursday night. With that said, I just don’t see the Sooners getting the road upset over a TCU team that I still improving as first-year starter Kenny Hill continues his maturation under center. TCU wins outright to cover the college football betting line!

My Pick: TCU 35 Oklahoma 31
