When it comes to professional sports, we all tend to get a little carried away when we see a team, or an athlete get out to a fast start.
There is a tendency to forget that the season is long, and some are slower to get rolling than others.

My Analysis
This is what we saw in the early going in MotoGP, with Jorge Martin getting out to a fast start. The gap at the top is closing, though, and it certainly looks as though we are going to see a championship battle that will go all the way to the final few weeks.
For this weekend, we will see the riders head to the Netherlands for the Motul TT Assen race. Will we see things get tighter at the top after this one? Let’s take a look at some of the potential winners.
^Jorge Martin
Through the opening 5 races of the season, Martin came away with a pair of wins, but since his victory in France, he has now gone 2 in a row without taking a checkered flag.
^Francesco Bagnaia
Knowing what it takes to win a championship tends to give athletes and edge, so you have to know that Bagnaia is going to be tough to beat. He came into this season looking for his 3rd straight tile.
He has done it a pair of different ways, coming from behind to win his first championship, while essentially leading the way from start to finish last season.
Bagnaia is already more than halfway to his win total from last season, winning 4 races to this point, He has won this race in back-to-back seasons, so he has to be the favorite here.
^Marc Marquez
It has now been 5 years since Marquez won his last world championship, but it has been injuries that have impacted on him as opposed to some decline in his skills.
He has been healthy this season, though, and is very much in the championship hunt.
^Enea Bastianini
At this point, you have to say that the championship race is down to 3 potential winners, but there is still plenty of time for that to change.
Batianini has been on the podium 3 times this season, and while that is a very decent return, it is not enough to keep pace with the guys that are winning on a regular basis.
He has not had a ton of success in this race, and top 5 might be the best we can hope for.
