MotoGP DutchGP Motul TT Assen Betting Favorites, Analysis & Prediction

Written by on June 22, 2023

We are 7 races into the 2023 MotoGP season and after the most recent race in Germany, we have seen things tighten up just a little at the top of the rider standings. That’s good news for fans who want to see a close battle all the way to the end of the season. There are still 13 races to come, so there is plenty of time for some more changes at the top, with Francesco Bagnaia trying to hold off the chasing pack and win his 2nd straight world championship. This weekend, the racers will be in the Netherlands for the Motul TT Assen. Are we going to see things tighten up some more after this one? Let’s take a look the MotoGP betting analysis at the current top 4.

MotoGP Betting Analysis for DutchGP Motul TT Assen

When: Sunday, June 25 at 1:30 pm ET
Where: TT Circuit Assen, Netherlands
TV / Streaming: CNBC

Francesco Bagnaia

Last season, Bagnaia got off to a slow start before going on a tear that led to him winning his first World Championship. He is off to a fast start this season, though, and has already won 3 races to get to 160 points. He almost pulled out another win in Germany but came up just short, finishing 2nd in that one. There is certainly reason to believe that he can get back on top and take the checkered flag this weekend, as he won this race in the Netherlands last season. Playing him to win is certainly worth a gamble.

Jorge Martin

Martin was never really that far off the pace heading into last weekend, but he edged closer still with a win in Germany. He is now sitting on 144 points, just 16 off the pace being set by the defending champion. You have to say that the win wasn’t that surprising, as he was knocking on the door in the previous 2 races, finishing 2nd in each of those outings. Martin ended up finishing 7th in the Netherlands last season, but given his current form, I think we can expect better this time around.

Marco Bezzecchi

Bezzecchi is also hanging around among the leaders, picking up 126 points through the first 6 races. He has been a little off over the past couple of weeks, though, finishing 4th and 8th, respectively, which does not help his cause when you consider that the two racers ahead of him are picking up wins. This is not to say that Bezzecchi cannot stay with them, though, as he has shown the ability to win this season, taking the checkered flag in 2 races already. He might be a good pick here, at least for the top 3, as he was 2nd in the Netherlands in 2022.

Johann Zarco

What we are seeing from Zarco this season is similar to what he has delivered over the last couple of years in MotoGP. He is picking up points and putting in some decent runs, but he is not turning that into wins, which he really needs to do if he is to seriously challenge for the top spot. He does, though, come into this weekend on a run of 3 straight podium finishes, so a top 3 pick might not be a bad way to go. He did have a top 5 in the Netherlands a couple of years ago, although he was 14th in this race last season.
