5 Reasons the AFC Will Win Super Bowl LIII

Although the NFC boasts two of the best teams in the NFL based on record, the L.A. Rams and New Orleans Saints, the AFC boasts 5 of the best teams in the league:  the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, and L.A. Chargers. Check out 5 reasons why the Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers, Texans, or Chargers have great odds to win Super Bowl LIII.

5 Reasons the AFC Will Win Super Bowl 53

Three Words, One Dynasty:  New England Patriots

The Patriots are one of the greatest dynasties in NFL history. In this modern age of free agency, NFL combines, and coaching and quarterback turnover, New England’s been a consistent model of excellence. The Patriots don’t always win the Super Bowl. They seem to always make it, though.

The Pats have punched their ticket to the Vince Lombardi game in 3 of the past 4 seasons. They’ve won 2-of-3 including a miraculous 34-28 overtime victory against the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI. As long as the Patriots play in the AFC, the chances of the AFC winning Super Bowls should be awesome.

No One Can Out Coach Bill Belichick

One of the reasons the Patriots often win the Super Bowl is because very few coaches can out game plan Bill Belichick. The greatest coach in NFL history lost a Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles 33-41 this year, but that’s because Bill simply didn’t have as good of a team.

Belichick’s got a better squad this season with running back Sony Michel leading the rushing attack and better players on defense. If the Patriots make it to the championship game this season, Belichick’s got more to work with for the win.

Kansas City’s Offense is Unstoppable

The Rams barely beat the Chiefs in the highest scoring game in NFL history in Week 11. KC’s offense is unstoppable. It averages 434 yards and 36.7 points. No defense can hold it down. If the Chiefs get more possessions than any game, they win.

This includes getting more possessions than their likely NFC opponent should KC win the AFC. This could be Kansas City’s season. So, whomever wins the NFC had better watch out.

AFC’s Deeper Than the NFC

Not only does the Kansas City Chiefs and New England Patriots play in the AFC, but so do the Pittsburgh Steelers and L.A. Chargers. The Steelers and Chargers are both capable of beating any team in the NFC. Both can move the football and score points and both have excellent defenses.

The NFC’s just not as deep as the AFC. Even on the second-level, after the Chiefs, Pats, Steelers, Chargers, and Texans, the AFC’s deeper with the Tennessee Titans, Baltimore Ravens, and Denver Broncos all playing well enough to beat most any team in the NFC.

Pick Your Poison:  Chiefs, Patriots, Steelers, Chargers, Texans

When it comes down to it, the L.A. Rams and New Orleans Saints are the two best teams in the NFC. If the NFC winner doesn’t happen to be the Rams or Saints, the NFC should have a close to impossible time winning the Super Bowl.

From the AFC, the Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Pittsburgh Steelers, Houston Texans, or L.A. Chargers could win the Super Bowl. That gives the AFC 4 real contenders for Vince Lombardi trophy glory while the NFC only has 2.
