NFL Over/Under Picks For The Weekend

The betting lines for Week 2 in the NFL are slowly starting to trickle in. We are going to be breaking down all of the games in Week 2, but I thought I would take a moment to look ahead at the upcoming action to see if there is anything that jumps out as far as the OVER/UNDER totals go. There are a few, but please keep in mind that it’s still very early in the week, and that these lines can change when word of injuries and other potential issues come out. You can always check back into the NFL betting page at MyBookie.ag to get all the latest live odds for these games.

In Depth Analysis On The NFL Over/Under Picks For The Weekend

New York Jets at Buffalo Bills – UNDER 40.5

Whenever these two teams hook up, they seldom put together an exciting offensive showing. What we usually get is a gritty, low-scoring game decided by a TD or less. Over the past 3 seasons, they have met 4 times with the UNDER coming in on 3 of those games. The New York Jets first game of the season went over, but the Bills only managed 7 points against Baltimore in a game that fell well under the total. I’m looking at this one being somewhere in the 30-point total range, which means the UNDER wins here.

Jacksonville Jaguars at San Diego Chargers– OVER 48

If Week 1 of the season is anything to go by, then both of these teams are going to treat us to a wide open style of football that is going to be a lot of fun to watch. Both teams played in games where the OVER hit, and that has been a common theme when they face one another. Going all the way back to 1992, these guys have met 8 times, and 7 of those meetings have gone OVER. That’s a pretty definite trend that I believe will continue this weekend.

Green Bay Packers at Minnesota Vikings – UNDER 45

From watching them play in Week 1, it’s obvious that the Vikings are going to take some time to adjust to life without Teddy Bridgewater at QB. They did pull out a big second half performance to get the win against the Vikings, but a lot of their points came via defensive turnovers. They may not get the same type of joy against the Packers this weekend, and you also have to look at the fact that the last 2 meetings between these two teams in Minnesota have gone UNDER the total. More of the same this weekend.

New Orleans Saints at New York Giants – UNDER 53.5

While this may look like a game where we are going to get some scoring, I believe that the point total at the moment is just a touch on the high side. The Saints got into a shootout with the Raiders in Week 1, but they are likely to be a little less aggressive on the road. The trend when these two meet in New York is pretty clear with 5 of the 7 meeting dating back to 1992 hitting the UNDER. Just a little UNDER this weekend, I believe.
