Week 10 NFL Winning Predictions: Dallas At Pittsburgh

Written by on November 11, 2016

When you look at the history of the NFL, there are a few teams that have now reached legendary status. These are teams that have fans in every single city across the country, and who have notched up many championships along the way. No team has been more successful than the Pittsburgh Steelers, but the Dallas Cowboys are not that far behind them. These two giants will go head to head in Pittsburgh this coming Sunday, and it will be sure to bring back memories of the Super Bowl in 1995 when QB Neil O’Donnell essentially handed the championship to the Cowboys with a pair of awful INT’s. That came at a time when the Cowboys were dominant, but the script has been flipped since then, with the Steelers adding a couple more rings to their collection. Both these teams are considered among the Super Bowl betting odds favorites this year, so this should be a good one. The Steelers are a slight 2-point home favorite for this one.

Why bet on the Dallas Cowboys

Over the first few weeks of the season, it looked as though a QB controversy might be brewing I Dallas. Tony Romo was ruled out for weeks with an injury, and rookie Dak Prescott came in and looked very good. There is no controversy now, though, as this has become Prescott’s team. The Dallas Cowboys are 7-1 on the season, and the young QB is a very big reason for that record. They are 4th in the league in PPG, and they have achieved that by Prescott being ridiculously efficient, while the running game has carved out a lot of yards every single week. The Cowboys are unbeaten on the road so far this season, and have a shot to maintain that against a struggling Steelers team.

Why bet on the Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers are in a bit of a freefall now, as they have now lost 3 straight games. The reason for the slump is obvious, as the running game has stalled. It also hasn’t helped that Ben Roethlisberger has been out or playing hurt in all 3 of those games. It’s hard to believe that the Steelers are 26th in rushing this season, and that Le’Veon Bell is yet to make a consistent impact on the field. That said, you still get the sense that this team is very dangerous, and they are still 8th in PPG. The Steelers have been money in games where they are favorites by less than 3 points, and have gone 2-0 ATS this season with that number, and 6-1 ATS over the last 3 years.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

Call it a hunch, but I think the Steelers put it all together this week against a big rival. They have allowed the Ravens to take control of the NFC North, and a little bit of desperation may just serve them well. I expect a close one, though.
