Top NHL Betting Picks of the Week – November 26th Edition

Written by on November 26, 2018

Can the Ottawa Senators snap out of their recent slump to get the road upset against the Flyers in the City of Brotherly Love on Tuesday night? Can Sidney Crosby and the struggling Pittsburgh Penguins pull off the road upset on Wednesday over a Colorado Avalanche team that has surprised so far this season?

Last but not least, can the Vegas Knights stay hot after a slow start to take down Vancouver on the road on Thursday? With the 2018 NHL regular season rolling right along and a new week ahead, it’s time for another round of top NHL betting picks of the week.

Top NHL Betting Picks of the Week – November 26th Edition

Ottawa (9-11-3) at Philadelphia (10-11-2)

  • When: Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at 7:00 PM ET
  • Where: Wells Fargo Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Ottawa has gone 4-5-1 in their last 10 games, but they hit the new week riding an uninspiring three-game losing streak that includes a humbling 6-4 loss at Dallas on Friday night. Philadelphia has gone 4-4-2 in their last 10 games and the Flyers come into the new week off an embarrassing 6-0 shutout loss at Toronto on Saturday.

For this Tuesday night matchup, I’m going to advise you to back Philadelphia in this pairing of mediocre teams. The Flyers are a modest 5-6-1 at home, but Ottawa is an awful 2-7-1 on the road. While the Sens rank a stellar third in scoring, Ottawa is also giving up a mind-bogging 4.3 goals per game defensively to rank 31st in goals allowed. Philly wins in a shootout.

NHL Betting Pick: Philadelphia 5 Ottawa 4

Pittsburgh (9-8-5) at Colorado (13-6-4)

  • When: Wednesday, November 28 at 9:30 PM ET
  • Where: Pepsi Center, Denver, CO

Pittsburgh is just 3-5-2 over their last 10 games, but Pittsburgh did manage to beat Columbus 4-2 on Saturday to improve to 2-1 over their last three games. Colorado has gone 6-2-2 over their last 10 games and the Avalanche ride an impressive four-game winning streak into the new week that includes a hard-fought 3-2 win over Dallas on Saturday.

Pittsburgh has struggled all season long while Colorado has been one of the most pleasant surprises in the league so far. While the Penguins rank a solid eighth in scoring (3.4 gpg), they’ve been uninspiring in ranking 21st in gaols allowed (21st). Conversely, Colorado ranks a stupendous second in scoring (3.7 gpg) and an equally impressive ninth in goals allowed (2.8 gpg). I’m going to advise you to back the high-scoring Avalanche to get past the still-explosive Penguins in a shootout.

NHL Betting Pick: Colorado 6 Pittsburgh 5

Vegas (12-12-1) at Vancouver (11-13-2)

  • When: Thursday, November 29 at 10:00 PM ET
  • Where: Rogers Arena, Vancouver, B.C.

Vegas has gone 6-4 over their last 10 games and the Knights ride a three-game winning streak into the new week that includes an emphatic 6-0 shutout win over San Jose on Saturday night. Vancouver has gone an uninspiring 2-7-1 in their last 10 games, but the Canucks managed to snap a pitiful eight-game losing streak by getting past Los Angeles 4-2 on Saturday.

For this Thursday night matchup, I have no doubt that Vegas is going to march into Vancouver and lay an emphatic smackdown on the Canucks that builds on their recent winning ways and improving status as a legitimate Stanley Cup challenger moving forward. The Knights will be looking to improve on their uninspiring 5-9 road record and I like them to do just that against a Vancouver team that ranks 28th in goals allowed (3.5 gpg).

NHL Betting Pick: Vegas 5 Vancouver 2
