Top NHL Betting Games Of The Week (Dec. 27 – Dec. 31)

Written by on December 26, 2016

We are drawing very close to the midway point of the NHL season, and it’s already beginning to look as though all the division races are going to go right down to the wire. There is a tremendous amount of parity in this league, and that tends to mean that there are as many as 5 or 6 teams in each division that could very well take the crown. This also means that there are several great games on the schedule each week, and this week is certainly no different. As we do every single Monday, let’s dig a little deeper into the upcoming schedule to get an idea of the best betting games of the week.

Top NHL Betting Games Of The Week (Dec. 27th – Dec. 31st)

Boston Bruins at Columbus Blue Jackets – Tuesday December 27

There is no team in the league hotter than the Columbus Blue Jackets, as they come off the short Christmas break on a 12-game winning streak. They have been particularly solid at home so far, going 13-3-1 on the season, but they will have a stern test against the Bruins on Tuesday. The Bruins have not been playing particularly well of late, but are still well within reach of the Atlantic Division top spot. A win here could allow them to put a little bit of pressure on the slumping Montreal Canadiens.

Philadelphia Flyers at St. Louis Blues – Wednesday December 28

The Flyers may be sitting in 5th spot in the Metropolitan Division, but they are only 6 points off the top spot, and are in a rich vein of form, going 7-2-1 in their last 10 games. Philadelphia are a game above .500 on the road this season, and will be looking to improve that record against a Blue team that has looked a little vulnerable of late. That said, St. Louis are still a very respectable 13-2-4 on home ice this season.

Anaheim Ducks at Calgary Flames – Thursday December 29

The division races don’t come much tighter than the one that is going on in the Pacific right now, with just 5 points separating 1st from 5th. It is the Calgary Flames who are occupying that number 5 spot, but who are on the rise after going 7-3-0 in their last 10. Calgary will have an opportunity to use their home ice advantage to vault an Anaheim team that is a game below .500 on the road this season, but who are still just three points out of top spot.

Montreal Canadiens at Pittsburgh Penguins – Saturday December 31

The year will come to an end with a game that has the potential to be one of the best of the week. The Montreal Canadiens have slowed down a little after a blistering start to the season, and will have a tough outing ahead of them when they head to Pittsburgh to face the Penguins on New Year’s Eve. Pittsburgh are 7-1-2 in their last 10 games heading into this week, and are sporting a rather impressive 15-2-2 record on home ice.
