Soccer Betting Analysis for Finals and Third Place Matches

Al Aly SC +235 vs Al Hilal Rijad +111 | FIFA Club World Cup – 3rd Place

  • When: Saturday, Feb. 12
  • Where: Al Nahyan Stadium, United Arab Emirates

Both teams have rocked it. Al Hilal, especially, has played great soccer. With the 2-0 win over Pohang Steelers on Nov. 23 last year, Al Hilal became the first team to win four AFC Champions League titles.

The chalk followed up the victory over Pohang with a 6-1 beating of Al Jazira. Even the loss to Chelsea impressed because the Blues beat Al Hilal Rijad by a single goal.

Al Aly lost by 2 goals to Palmeiras in their semifinal match. But the underdog beat one of the better teams in Mexican Liga in the quarterfinals, Monterrey, via a 1-0 score.

Still, Al Aly isn’t as talented as Al Hilal. At the odds, Al Hilal is a slight overlay. The chalk wins the third-place trophy.

FIFA Club World Cup Pick: Al Hilal Rijad

SE Palmeiras SP +370 vs Chelsea FC -144 | FIFA Club World Cup – Finals

  • When: Saturday, Feb. 12
  • Where: Al Nahyan Stadium, United Arab Emirates

Chelsea is a solid team. The Blues are more talented than Palmeiras in every phase of the game, defense, in goal, in midfield, and upfront.

But Palmeiras appears to have adjusted to the heat much easier than Chelsea has. It makes sense. Brazil is a hot place. Not only that, but it’s muggy. So going from a muggy place to a dry heat environment may have helped Palmeiras.

The way the underdog handled Al Aly was fantastic. Chelsea wants to win this match, but we should be honest about how much Tommy Tuchel will lay on the line for a FIFA Club World trophy.

The Blues take on Lille in a Champions League match on Feb. 22. Seven days later, Chelsea battles Liverpool in the English Carabao Cup Final.

No doubt, Chelsea can beat Palmeiras without breaking too much of a sweat. But the odds make the Blues a bad play. Tuchel wants to win, but the Club World Cup Championship is about fourth or fifth on the list of what Chelsea wishes to accomplish this season.

Because Palmeiras will be the more motivated squad, seems to have adjusted to that heat more than Chelsea has, and offers much better odds, the Brazilian Serie A team is the play.

FIFA Club World Cup Pick:  SE Palmeiras SP
