The second round of the 2023 US Open begins Today with a handful of marquee matches. The first round gave us some great matches and surprising upsets.

Ben Shelton, meanwhile, recovered after an opening set loss to beat Pedro Cachin 1-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4. Thiem won the only match between these two players, but it was on clay.
Shelton is a slightly better outdoor hard courts player Thiem won his first match on the surface of the season on Monday and will have the home crowd on his side. This could go five sets, but Shelton should have the edge.
