Peter Yan vs Song Yadong
If you call yourself a mixed martial arts fan, you’re giddy about this one. Both Yadong and Yan throw down. The -135 favorite is short in stature at 5’ 7”, but he isn’t afraid of anybody.
The reason Yan has won a single bout in his last 5 is because he’s gone against Aljamain Sterling twice, champ Sean O’Malley, and Merab Dvalishvili. Song has won 4-of-5. Yadong has a couple of physical advantages that take him over the top in this, but don’t be surprised if Yan gets it done.
Bet On UFC: Song Yadong
Gilbert Burns vs Jack Della Maddalena
Burns shows 3 wins and a couple of losses in his last 5, which is the reason he’s the underdog in this situation. At +125, Gilbert might be a decent pick.
But before dumping on the dog, it’s important to note that Jack Della Maddalena hasn’t lost since dropping his first two MMA fights in 2016. Since then, he’s rolled. Maddalena is a craftsman. On Saturday night, it will show.
Bet On UFC: Jack Della Maddalena
Kevin Holland vs Michael Page
Holland lost his last via split-decision. Since it was to Jack Della Maddalena and it was an SD, it means Holland fought great.
Michael Page has won 4-of-5. Page comes over from Bellator, which is why even though he’s got an excellent record, he’s the dog in this. However, Bellator fighters are on par with the talent at UFC. Give Page a shot.
Bet On UFC: Michael Page
Dustin Poirier vs Benoit Saint Denis
Dustin Poirier hasn’t had great luck since the last Conor McGregor beat down, losing 2-of-3. Poirier’s losses came against Charles Oliveira and Justin Gaethje, though.
Benoit Saint Denis is 13-1 and on a 5-match winning streak. Poirier is attracting action because of his name. At -170, Saint Denis is an overlay.
Bet On UFC: Benoit Saint Denis
Sean O’Malley vs Marlon Vera
Talk about overlays. Sean O’Malley has suffered a single loss in his career. The loss came via first round knockout to Marlon Vera in 2020.
Since then, O’Malley has fought great. Vera has also fought great since then. Marlon lost to Jose Aldo in 2020 and Corey Sandhagen in via split-decision in 2023. At +195, Vera is a massive overlay in this. Marlon ends O’Malley’s reign in the bantamweight division.
Bet On UFC: Marlon Vera
Pedro Munhoz vs Kyler Phillips
There are so many good fights on the UFC 299 card. This is one of them. Pedro Munhoz gives up 7 inches in reach and 2 inches in height, but he’s risen to a +175 choice after opening at +205.
The reason Munhoz is attracting money is because he fought two great opponents in 2023, falling to Marlon Vera via unanimous decision and beating Christian Gonzalez via UD. Kyler Phillips has won 4-of-5. But Phillips hasn’t come close to battling someone on Munhoz’s level. Pedro gets the nod.
Bet On UFC: Pedro Munhoz
Mateusz Gamrot vs Rafael Dos Anjos
39 year old Rafael Dos Anjos is one of the toughest dudes on the planet. The man has won 3-of-5 with 2 losses. The losses came against top competition, Rafael Fiziev and Vicente Luque.
Mateusz Gamrot has won 4-of-5, which is why Gamrot is the chalk. Mateusz should get the, but the old warrior can surprise. We’ll take a shot on Dos Anjos.
Bet On UFC: Rafael Dos Anjos
Kaitlyn Cerminara vs Maycee Barber
Underdog Katilyn Cerminara boasts an 18-5 record. Cerminara has an excellent defense and terrific stand up skills. She doesn’t have the heaviest hands, which is why she’s 2-2 via TKO/KO.
Favorite Maycee Barber gives up 4 inches in height and 3 inches in reach. But Barber gets it done. She’s 6-0 via knockout and 2-0 via submissions. The chalk prevails.
Bet On UFC: Maycee Barber
Curtis Blaydes vs Jailton Almeida
By the time Blaydes and Almeida step into the Octagon, they should both be -110. Blaydes was on a 3-fight winning streak before falling to Sergei Pavlovich via first round knockout in his lone bout in 2023.
Almeida hasn’t lost since 2018. Although he hasn’t fought on the level that Blaydes has, Jailton is good enough to get it done on Saturday night.
Bet On UFC: Jailton Almeida
I have read enough, I need to place my bet now. What to do?
