UFC Fight Night: Vettori Vs Holland Expert Analysis

Written by on April 9, 2021

It’s a great weekend for fight fans who cannot always afford to get in on the big PPV events, as the UFC is heading to primetime on Saturday night. UFC Vegas 23 will open up with the prelims, which can be seen on ESPN+, before heading on over to the main card on ABC. There are 5 very good matchups set for the main card, and while we did see a change made to the main event, we are still left with a fight that promises to be a great one. Let’s quickly break down the 5 fights on the main card and make some predictions as we go so you can bet against their UFC odds.

UFC Fight Night: Brunson Vs Holland | MMA Betting

Mike Perry (+110) Vs Daniel Rodriguez (-140)

The main card begins with a Welterweight bout that looks to be very evenly matched. That said, you have to feel as though the pressure is squarely on Perry here, as he is on a run that has seen him lose 3 of his last 5 fights, with all but 1 of those 5 going the distance. Rodriguez is a solid 13-2 in his career, but he will be looking to bounce back after losing the last time out. That defeat ended a 9-fight winning streak, and I think he starts a new one with a decision win here.

Nina Nunes (-135) Vs Mackenzie Dern (+105)

The ladies are up next for a Strawweight bout that also looks to be about as evenly matched as it gets. Nunes saw a 4-fight win streak come to an end in her last bout, losing to Tatiana Suarez to fall to 10-6 overall. Mackenzie Dern took the lone loss of her career a few fights back, but she did not let that setback affect her, as she returned to win 3 in a row. Dern is in as the slight underdog for this one, but I think she is a fantastic bet at those odds.

Sam Alvey (+160) Vs Julian Marquez (-200)

Next up on the main card is a Middleweight bout that could potentially spell the end of the road for one of these fighters. Sam Alvey is on an absolutely horrible run of form, losing 4 of his last 5 fights and drawing the other. He is moving to Middleweight to try and break out of the slump, but he is up against a very good fighter in Marquez, who is 8-2 and winner of 6 of his last 7 fights. I think Marquez gets the job done quickly.

Arnold Allen (+120) Vs Sodiq Yusuff (-150)

This Featherweight bout has all the makings of the fight of the night, as both of these fighters are sitting just outside the top 10 in the division rankings. Allen is an impressive 16-1 and is on a run that has seen him win 9 in a row. Yusuff is 11-1 overall and is on a 6-fight win streak, with 3 of those wins coming in the opening round. This really does fall into the coin flip category, but I am going with the slight underdog and taking Allen to win by decision.

Marvin Vettori (-350) Vs Kevin Holland (+275)

The Middleweight main event looks a little different than expected, with Kevin Holland filling in on short notice for Darren Till. Vettori is 16-3-1 and coming into this bout on a 4-fight win streak, with 3 of those last 4 fights going the distance. This is a quick turnaround for Holland after losing to Derek Brunson by decision just 3 weeks ago. I do think this one will go the distance, but I expect Vettori to have more in the tank, which will lead to him getting the decision.
