The second week of action has begun at the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club, and the men’s and women’s draws are almost down to eight competitors each. Fourth-round matches conclude today as the final four players in each draw look to book their tickets into the quarter-finals.

While the men’s draw has featured some surprises, the women’s draw has been completely shaken up after Iga Swiatek’s shocking third-round defeat. Most of the women’s Wimbledon Betting favorites, including Swiatek and American Coco Gauff, have already been eliminated, perhaps paving the way for the rise of a new star in the women’s game.

David Goffin (+175) vs Cameron Norrie (-225)

Fresh off a victory over American Frances Tiafoe, David Goffin is in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon for the second time in his career and first since 2019, when he lost in straight sets to Novak Djokovic. Norrie, the first Briton in the quarter-finals of the men’s draw at Wimbledon in five years, has looked dominant in three of his first four victories.

Norrie has the support of the home crowd at the All England Club, and Goffin will have to dig deep to find the energy as his last match was well over four hours. Norrie defeated Goffin last year at the Barcelona Open in their only career meeting.

Tatjana Maria (+150) vs Jule Niemeier (-188)

The all-German quarter-final between veteran Tatjana Maria and upstart Jule Niemeier is one that nobody could have predicted. Maria, world No. 103, has mostly been playing ITF events this year but did win a WTA 250 event in Colombia this past April as a qualifier. Niemeier, 22 and world No. 97, is here after several upset victories, including over world No. 2 Anett Kontaveit.

Niemeier has the serve advantage and youth on her side. There’s something about the way she has been playing this tournament that feels like we could see her playing in Saturday’s final.

Favorites to Win The Championships Tournament

Djokovic (-275) is looking as though a 21st Grand Slam title is inevitable. He’s a major favorite now after opening up the tournament at -125. He lost only two sets in his first four matches but had a tough and intriguing battle against rising star Jannik Sinner in the quarter-finals.

In the women’s draw, Swiatek came into Wimbledon in a similar position to Djokovic – except she had been even more dominant. Swiatek won 37 matches in a row before her shocking third-round loss to Alize Cornet.

Ons Jabeur (+150) is now the rightful favorite. She has yet to lose a set at Wimbledon.

Upsets

Swiatek’s loss has easily been the upset of the tournament. Cornet, world No. 37, was 12-15 this season heading into Wimbledon and hadn’t reached the Round of 16 here since 2014.

Cauff, who played Swiatek in the French Open finals, lost to fellow American Amanda Anisimova in the third Round.

Suprises

Perhaps the biggest surprise in the men’s draw has been the play of Nick Kyrgios. The Aussie has always had the talent but is as confident as ever this year and playing like someone who knows he can win the tournament. Kyrgios defeated world No. 6 Stefanos Tsitsipas in the third round and now awaits Brandon Nakashima in the fourth round Monday morning.
