WNBA Betting Picks of the Week – August 13th Edition

Written by on August 13, 2018

The streaking Washington Mystics and league-leading Seattle Storm will both be looking to extend their winning ways when they take to the court for this coming week of WNBA betting action. If you love women’s basketball and you’re looking for some excellent value, then you’ve come to the right place!

WNBA Betting Picks of the Week – August 13th Edition

Washington Mystics (20-11) at Indiana Fever (5-26)

  • Wednesday, August 15 at 7:00 PM ET

Analysis: Washington has won six straight games including their 93-80 win over Dallas on Sunday. Indiana has dropped three straight including their 92-74 blowout loss to Vegas on Friday night. The Mystics are averaging 82.6 points per game while allowing 79.6 points per contest defensively. Indiana is averaging 75.2 points per game while allowing 84.8 points per game defensively.

Prediction: The Mystics are the easy pick in this mid-week matchup, seeing as how they’ve got the best player on the floor in this matchup in superstar Elena Delle Donne (21.0 ppg). Indiana has a trio of double-digit scorers, but no true superstar, not to mention their defense is akin to Swiss cheese.

WNBA Betting Pick: Washington 85 Indiana 77

Minnesota Lynx (17-14) at Connecticut Sun (18-13)

Are the Connecticut Sun a safe WNBA betting pick this week?
  • Friday, August 17 at 7:00 PM ET

Analysis: Minnesota has gone a modest 5-5 over their last 10 games, but they got humbled in their 81-72 loss to Seattle on Sunday night. Connecticut has won seven of its last 10 games and comes into this contest off a 82-75 win over Chicago on Sunday. The Lynx are averaging 78.4 points per game this season, but allowing 77.1 points per game defensively. Connecticut is averaging 87.0 points per game while allowing 81.8 points per contest defensively.

Prediction: Minnesota might be the league’s defending champs, but the Lynx have been wildly inconsistent all season long and now have the look of a team that isn’t going to challenge the most elite teams in the league this season. With that said, I like Connecticut to get the big home win in this one seeing as how they’re the much better offensive team in this affair.

WNBA Betting Pick: Connecticut 87 Minnesota 81

New York Liberty (7-23) at Seattle Storm (24-8)

  • Friday, August 17 at 10:00 PM ET

Analysis: New York has lost nine straight and comes into this contest off a 86-77 loss to Atlanta on Sunday. Seattle has gone 8-2 over their last 10 games including their 81-72 win over Minnesota on Sunday. The Liberty are averaging a solid 78.0 points per game while allowing 84.8 points per game defensively. The Storm are averaging a league-best 87.4 points per game while allowing 80.1 points per game defensively.

Prediction: The Seattle Storm are the easy pick to get the win in this one, seeing as how they have the best player in the league in do-it-all forward Breanna Stewart (21.0 ppg) and two more scorers in the league’s top 23 in Jewell Lloyd (16.0 ppg) and Natasha Howard (13.5 ppg). New York’s Tina Charles is still a superstar of the highest order (20.1 ppg), but she just doesn’t have the help she needs in order to get the win over a far superior Seattle team.

WNBA Betting Pick: Seattle 85 New York 72
