Raymond Ford -700 vs Richard Medina +400

  • San Antonio, TX – DAZN

23-year-old Raymond Ford is 11-0-1 with 6 knockout wins. Most expect Ford to demolish Richard Medina.

But like Ford, Medina has yet to lose. The underdog in this has a very good 13-0 record. Medina has knocked out more opponents than Ford. Raymond should win, but the odds make him an underlay. Medina is the pick.

Boxing Pick: Richard Medina

Alma Ibarra +420 vs Jessica McCaskill -570

  • Unified Women’s Welterweight Titles 10-Rounds

Alma Ibarra is an excellent boxer. The underdog’s record, 10-1 with 5 knockout victories, speaks for itself. Ibarra will make things tough on Jessica McCaskill.

MacCaskill gives up 3 inches in height and 2 inches in reach. But McCaskill is much faster. Not only that, but the 11-2 fighter hasn’t lost since 2017 and when she did it was versus the great Katie Taylor. The favorite wins.

Boxing Pick: Jessica McCaskill -570

Ronny Rios +450 vs Murodjon Akhmadaliev -650

  • IBF & WBC Jr. Featherweight Titles – 12-Rounds

The underdog in this big time championship bout has some skills. Ronny Rios is 33-3 with 16 knockout wins. In his last bout, Rios beat well-regarded Oscar Negrete via 10-round unanimous decision.

With such a stunning record, and because he won his last fight, boxing handicappers might be wondering why Rios is such a massive underdog. The reason is because Rios fought Negrete in February 2021.

Rios has been out of action for over a year. That’s not the best way to prepare for an undefeated, two-belt champions.

Murodjon Akhmadaliev is 10-0 with 7 knockout or technical knockout victories. The IBF and WBC Super Bantamweight title holder beat Jose Velasquez via unanimous decision in his last fight.

In the fight before last, Akhmadaliev took out Ryosuke Iwasa via technical knockout victory in the fifth round and in the bout before that, the champ beat Daniel Roman via 12-round split-decision.

Akhmadaliev is getting better with every bout. Rios is an experienced fighter so this should last until the middle rounds. But then, the champ will assert his control and knockout the challenger.

Boxing Pick: Murodjon Akhmadaliev

Srisaket Sor Rungvisai +345 vs Jesse Rodriguez -445

  • WBC Jr. Bantamweight Title – 12-Rounds

Few boxers have had as storied of a career as Thai fighter Srisaket Sor Rungvisai. Also called Wisaksil Wangek, Rungvisai is the most famous boxer from Thailand.

Srisaket has a fantastic 50-5-1 record with 43 knockout or technical knockout victories. Rungvisai’s last loss was to the terrific Juan Francisco Estrada back in 2019. Since then, Srisaket has dominated his opponents.

But all three fights since falling to Estrada have happened in Thailand. So it’s difficult to know if Rungvisai has enough left in the tank to hang with Jesse Rodriguez.

The WBC champion has one of the best pair of feet in the business. His footwork is second to none. Rodriguez puts himself into position to land power punches, which is one of the differences between great fighters like Rungvisai and becoming one of the greatest like Rodriguez is on his way to becoming.

Jesse doesn’t win angles. He makes angles, meaning he puts his opponents into bad positions by forcing them to react to his movement. Rodriguez has a 4-inch reach advantage, is 15-0 with 10 knockout wins, hits like a middleweight and is much younger than Rungvisai. The champ wins via knockout.

Boxing Pick: Jesse Rodriguez
