The obvious one is youth. Paul was born in 1995. Mike Tyson was born in 1966 and started competing in 1985. Tyson is 55. Logan Paul is 26.

But Paul would bring other advantages to the match in addition to youth. For starters, he’s a much taller human being than Mike Tyson. Paul is 6’ 2”. 

Tyson is 5’ 10”. In addition, Paul would have a 5-inch reach advantage. Tyson’s reach is only 71 inches while Paul’s is 76.

Mike Tyson Advantages

Tyson has more experience, the likely better chin, and he knows boxing. Iron Mike throws everything with power because he understands weight distribution, how to set his feet, and what to throw to counter his opponent’s punches.

Tyson could knock Paul out with a single punch. Paul doesn’t have the power to knock Mike out with a single blow. 

So if Tyson can weather the age disparity, he could devastate Logan Paul simply because he’s a former professional boxer while Paul remains a YouTube star. 

Will Tyson and Paul fight?

The chances are decent. Mike Tyson started the whole celebrity boxing, or old guys stepping back into the ring, it depends on how you look at it, movement when he fought Roy Jones Jr.

Paul saw that boxing match and figures he can use his feet and jab to stay away from Tyson. Mike did appear gassed at the end of that bout. But Mike got some big time body blows in the fight.

Jones said he could feel each one of Mike’s punches. So Logan had better know that the fight, no matter Mike’s age, could end badly for him.

In any case, the bout is close to a sure thing. Tyson had already been training for his next opponent. Also, Iron Mike and Logan Paul know each other. Tyson has appeared on his show.

If a boxing match does happen, it’s likely to occur sometime in February, 2022. Paul will want the next few months to ready for a much different adversary than  Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Tyson will want time to promote the match on his weekly podcast. Logan’s brother, Jake Paul, fights Tyson Fury’s brother, Tommy, in December. 

Even if Jake loses that fight, we should expect a Tyson versus Logan match in the first couple of months in 2022.
