There is a lot going on in the world of MMA this weekend, but I don’t think anything will top what we are about to see at UFC 271. Not only are we getting a title fight, but also one of the most anticipated rematches in quite some time. This is a PPV event, but you can catch the prelims on ESPN ahead of the 5-fight main card. There does not appear to be a bad matchup on this card, which makes it all the more exciting for those of us who look a great evening of MMA action. Let’s take a dive into the main card, with UFC Odds and predictions for all 5 fights.

Nasrat Haqparast (+110) Vs Bobby Green (-140)

We get the main card rolling with a Lightweight bout featuring a pair of fighters who could use a win right now. Haqparast is 13-4 overall, but he is coming into this fight on the heels of a loss and 2 defeats in his last 4 fights. He is on a run now that has seen each of his last 3 fights go the distance. While Green comes into this one on the heels of a win, that victory snapped a 2-fight losing streak. I think this one goes all the way, with Green getting the decision.

Kyler Phillips (-425) Vs Marcelo Rojo (+325)

Next up is a Bantamweight bout, and once again we have a pair of fighters who have been a little inconsistent of late. Phillips was off to a 9-1 start to his pro career and rolling, but a loss in his last fight has taken some of the wind out of his sails. It has been much the same story for Rojo, who has been struggling to put together back-to-back wins on his way to a 16-7 record. I like Phillips to take this one, but he made need to go the distance to get the W.

Jared Cannonier (-160) Vs Derek Brunson (+130)

We have a huge Middleweight bout up next, with the winner of this one potentially putting themselves in line for a title shot. Cannonier has won 4 of his last 5 fights to take his career mark to 14-5 and to take the #3 slot in the weight class. Brunson, who is 23-7 overall, is ranked right behind Cannonier at #4. Brunson has won 5 in a row and taken down some good fighters in the process. I think he comes up short here, though, as I have Cannonier for the KO win.

Derrick Lewis (-185) Vs Tai Tuivasa (+155)

Expect the fists to fly when the big men step into the ring for a Heavyweight bout that serves as the co-main event of the night. Lewis comes in with a 26-7 record and the #4 ranking in the weight class. He is in good form, winning 5 of his last 6. After going on a 3 in a row losing spiral, Tuivasa has bounced back to win 4 in a row, getting to #11 overall in the process. I don’t see any way this goes the distance, so I am taking Lewis for the KO win.

Israel Adesanya (-290) Vs Robert Whittaker (+230)

The final fight of the night is a beauty, as it is a Middleweight Title bout that has Israel Adesanya looking to defend his title. After the disappointment of missing out on the Light Heavyweight Championship, Adesanya bounced back with a big win last time out. Whittaker, who is 23-5, will be hoping to last longer than he did the last time he faced the champ, when he went down in Round 2. I have Adesanya here, but it might go the full 5 rounds.
