UFC 283 Odds, Betting Preview and Early Analysis for the Main Card Bouts

UFC 283 Odds, Betting Preview and Early Analysis for the Main Card Bouts

We are still a little over 2 weeks away from the next major event in the UFC, but it’s never too early to start looking at the odds and planning ahead. We are, of course, talking about UFC 283, which will host a pair of title fights on what is a ridiculously good main card. Before we get into this and look at the odds, it is worth remembering that the prices will change, plus there is the possibility that fights might get cancelled or fighters switched as we head closer to the big date. We certainly hope that the latter doesn’t happen, but we have seen that go down in the past, so it’s always a good idea to be prepared. We will have a more in-depth preview of each fight closer to the time, but for now, let’s look at the matchups and the early UFC Odds for UFC 283.

Early MMA Betting Rundown of the Main Fights for UFC 282: Teixeira vs Hill

Gilbert Burns (-217) Vs Neil Magny (+160)

While both of these Welterweight fighters are getting up there in years, both are legends of the sport and should deliver a fantastic battle to open the main card. Both have the same 3-2 record over their past 5 fights, although Magny has 7 more career wins than his opponent overall. This is about as evenly matched as it gets, and despite losing 2 of his last 3, Burns is in as the slight favorite.

Jessica Andrade (-278) Vs Lauren Murphy (+200)

After losing to Valentina Shevchenko, Andrade made the move from Flyweight to Strawweight and picked up a couple of commanding wins. She is now heading back to Flyweight for what looks to be a very difficult bout against Lauren Murphy, who has won 4 of her last 5 bouts. The bookies have a definite favorite here, as they seem to believe that Andrade will be back to her best in this weight class.

Mauricio Rua (+150) Vs Ihor Potieria (-204)

A big Light Heavyweight bout here and one where you could argue that both fighters need a win. Rua is now 41 years old and has lost 2 in a row, while Potieria is looking to bounce back after taking a loss last time out. You do have to wonder of it’s beginning to look like the end of the road for the aging Rua, and the bookies seem to agree that it might, as they have him in as the underdog for this one.

Deiveson Figuieredo (-115) Vs Brandon Moreno (-105)

You need only look at the odds here to see how evenly matched this Flyweight Championship fight is. Figuieredo is in as the defending champion after taking the belt from Moreno in a rematch that was actually their third tilt. Moreno, though, is determined to get the belt back and has had some success against the champ in the past. Will we see the tile switch hand again and perhaps set up another rematch?

Glover Teixeira (+135) Vs Jamahal Hill (-155)

The headline event of the night is as big as it gets, with Teixeira looking to win the Vacant Light Heavyweight Championship belt against a very dangerous challenger. Teixeira is now in his early 40’s and nearing the end of his career, while Hill is on the rise with an 11-1 record and a 3-fight win streak ahead of this one. This feels like we might be about to see a changing of the guard, and the odds reflect that.
