Brooklyn vs Toronto NBA Odds Analysis

Written by on March 7, 2016

With the Toronto Raptors coming off a humbling loss and the lowly Brooklyn Nets getting smacked around like an overmatched bunch of middle schoolers the last time out, I’m thinking NBA bettors have what amounts to a lock pick on their hands when the two Eastern Conference rivals square off on Tuesday night. Be sure to check out for more betting lines for NBA by clicking here. Now, let’s find out why.

Brooklyn vs Toronto NBA Odds Analysis and TV Info

When: Tuesday, March 8, 7:30 PM ET Where: Air Canada Centre, Toronto TV: YES (Brooklyn market), Sportsnet One (Toronto market) NBA Odds: Raptors favored by TBA

Why Bet the Brooklyn Nets

Brooklyn (18-45 SU, 32-30-1 ATS) doesn’t look like a good bet because of the pitiful basketball they’ve played all season long. Let’s be honest for a minute people. Unless Toronto simply doesn’t show up to the arena, the Nets are facing a serious uphill battle to both, win and cover the spread against the Raptors. Brooklyn got all kinds of smacked around in their 132-118 loss to blossoming Minnesota on Saturday night while never, ever coming close to covering the spread as a 4.5-point home favorite. The Nets are 1-3 SU over their last four games and 1-2 ATS over their last three. More importantly, they’ve given up at least 105 points in three straight games and five of their last six games overall.

Why Bet the Toronto Raptors

Toronto (41-20 SU, 33-28 ATS) looks like a great bet after losing to Houston on Sunday night. The Raptors got tripped up by the defenseless, but explosive Rockets in their 113-107 road loss as an 8-point favorite to snap their modest two-game SU winning streak. For me, that makes me believe they’re going to be on top of their ‘A’ game against the lowly Nets.

Expert Betting Pick & Final Score Prediction

Again, I’m not giving the Nets much if a chance to cover the spread in this contest no matter what the figure is for them as a road dog. I know Brooklyn has gone 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following an ATS loss. Nets are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games following a straight up loss of more than 10 points and 4-0 ATS in their last four road games against a team with a winning home record, but the Nets are also just 4-11-1 ATS in their last 16 games versus a team with a winning straight up record and 3-10-1 ATS in their last 14 games against their Eastern Conference counterparts. The Raptors are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games against a team with a losing straight up record and just 2-5 ATS in their last seven home games against a team with a losing road record, but the Eastern Conference title contenders are also a near-perfect 7-1 ATS in their last eight games against teams from their own Atlantic division. Toronto has won two straight and will make it three in a row by getting the double-digit home win as likely 10-point faves. My final score prediction is Toronto 115 Brooklyn 102
