 Both of these teams are sporting very similar records, which means it’s going to be hard to pick a winner here. The home team is always a good bet, and you can get the Toronto Raptors at straight up odds of -192. The Mavericks have been surprisingly good this season, and may be worth a look at +160. Both teams tend to play it tight to the vest, which may have an impact on the OVER/UNDER at 195.5.

Why bet on the Dallas Mavericks at odds of +4

The Dallas Mavericks have surprised a few people by getting off to a 15-12 start to the season, although things have cooled off a little of late. The Mavericks are just 5-5 in their last 10 games, but are coming off a 97-88 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. Dallas does have a winning record on the road this season, going 8-7 so far. This is an older team, which may explain why they do well after a rest. Dallas are 8-3 ATS when they play after 3 or more days’ rest. They have not performed very well against teams from the east, though, and are just 3-11 ATS in their last 14 games. The Mavericks are averaging 100.7 PPG, and are giving up 100.4 PPG this season.

The Toronto Raptors (17-12) currently occupy the 5th seed in what is a very log-jammed Eastern Conference, and find themselves just 3 games out of the top spot. Like the Mavericks, they have been a little up and down of late, and are also just 5-5 in their last 10 games. While not dominating, the Raptors are a solid 8-5 when playing on home court. The Raptors do seem to enjoy playing teams from the Southwest Division, and are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 against them. They are also 5-1 ATS when coming off an ATS loss in their last game. Toronto is averaging 99.6 PPG, and are giving up 96.5 PPG.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

As I mentioned a little earlier, these two teams are actually pretty similar, both in overall record, and in their offensive and defensive numbers. In those situations, I often defer to the team playing at home. That is why I like Toronto to edge this one.
