NBA Predictions Between Oklahoma City Vs Houston

Written by on April 17, 2017

Electrifying Oklahoma City point guard Russell Westbrook might win this season’s league MVP award, but likely runner-up James Harden will look to outplay his former teammate for the second straight game when he and his third-seeded Houston Rockets teammates take on Westbrook and the sixth-seeded Thunder on Wednesday night. After leading the explosive Rockets to an emphatic win and ATS cover, let’s find out if Harden and company can duplicate their impressive Game 1 dominance in Game 2. Find out more about the latest NBA betting odds here.

A Closer Look At The NBA Predictions Between Thunder Vs Rockets

The Rockets are solid 6.5-point home favorites when they host Oklahoma City on Sunday, April 16, 2017 at 9:00 PM ET, live from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. This game airs live on TNT.

Why Bet The Oklahoma City Thunder Odds at +7.5

The best reasons to bet on the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 2 is that they can’t possibly play any worse than they did in Game 1…can they? All jokes aside, the Thunder – and westbrook in particular – looked completely out of sync in their embarassing 118-87 blowout at the hands of the rockets on Sunday. Westbrook was harassed by Houston’s Parick Beverly into a dismal 6-for-23 shooting night from the field (22 points) while committing a whopping nine turnovers. Oklahoma City shot an uninspiring 37.0 perent from the field in the loss (30-for-81) and got double-digit scoring from just two players besides their electrifying loor leader as Andre Roberson scored 18 points and Jerami Grant added 10 points off the bench. Victor Oladipo was limited to just six points on 1 of 12 shooting while Steven Adams and Enes Kanter were limited to six and eight points respectively, but I expect better performances out of all three in Game 2.

Why Bet The Houston Rockets Odds at -7.5

Just like Game 1, there are a handful of great reasons to back the Houston Rockets in Game 2, starting with the fact that the Rockets have a superstar leader in james Harden and simply have too much offensive firepower and quality depth for the Thunder to keep up with. Case in point…the Thunder placed five players in double figures in scoring in Game 1 with Harden scoring a game-high 37 points and Patrick Beverly’s impressive 21-point outing. In addition to Harden the Rockets also have five other players averaging double figures in scoring in Eric Gordon (16.2 ppg), Lou Williams (14.9 ppg), Ryan Anderson (13.6 ppg), Clint Capela (12.6 ppg) and Trevor Ariza (11.7 ppg). In addition to all of that, Beverly, Nene and impressive young power forward Montrezl Harrell all average over 9.0 points per contest. Houston also is the better rebounding team as evidenced by the act that they out-rebounded the Thunder 62-48 in Game 1 as Beverly pulled down 10 board and Ryan Anderson, a dozen.

Expert Pick & Final Score Prediction

Even though I’m expecting a much better effort from the Oklahoma City Thunder in game 2, the Houston Rockets are the easy pick to get the win and ATS cover in Game 2 ater seeing how they blew the Thunder out of the water in Game 1 – without their regular scorers like Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson and Lou Williams really having good games. Oklahoma City has gone 1-10 ATS in their last 11 meetings against the Rockets and 1-6 ATS in their last seven road games against the Rockets. The bottom line for Game 2 – and the remainder of this series really – is that Oklahoma City just doesn’t have enough talent to keep up with the high-scoring Rockets no matter how many points, rebounds and assists Russell Westbrook racks up.

My final score prediction is Houston 115 Oklahoma City 105
