New York at Atlanta The New York Knicks (16-14) have a better record than the Hawks (15-16), but I’m going to urge you to back the desperate Hawks to get the win at home against Carmelo Anthony and company. However, if the NBA betting line for this matchup goes over more than four or five points at most, I say back the Knicks. Pick: Atlanta 104 NY Knicks 98 Phoenix at San Antonio The Spurs (25-6) will undoubtedly beat the rebuilding Suns (12-22) in this contest, but if the spread for this mismatch goes over a dozen points, I say be careful. Pick: San Antonio 107 Phoenix 95 Toronto at Golden State The Warriors (27-5) are going to take all of their frustration for losing to Cleveland on Christmas day out on the good, but not great Raptors (22-8). I’m thinking the spread for this matchup will be right round eight points at most. Steph Curry and company are the easy pick to get the win, but if the spread tops double digits, I say use some caution! Pick: Golden State 109 Toronto 100

Oklahoma City at Memphis The Oklahoma City Thunder (19-12) are led by MVP candidate Russell Westbrook, but the Memphis Grizzlies(20-13)  have the deeper, more experienced team, At home Memphis gets the narrow SU win, but I like the Thunder to cover the spread in a thriller if the betting line tops four points. Pick: Memphis 103 Oklahoma City 99 Boston at Cleveland The Celtics (18-13) were touted as a legitimate threat to Cleveland before the season started and although they’ve warmed up as of late, I just don’t see the C’s beating LeBron James and company in this matchup. Boston has some serious rebounding deficiencies and that simply doesn’t bode well against Tristan Thompson and Kevin Love if you ask me. Pick: Cleveland 106 Boston 98

Milwaukee at Minnesota Two of the most talent-laden young teams in the league will throw down when the Timberwolves (10-21) host the Bucks (14-15) in this intriguing affair. Milwaukee has the much better record in this contest, but they also won’t have an answer for Minnesota center Karl Anthony Towns. Pick: Minnesota 102 Milwaukee 100 LA Clippers at Houston The Clippers (22-11) will be without forward Blake Griffin for the immediate future, but it is Chris Paul’s gimpy hamstring that leads me to believe that James Harden and the three-point happy Rockets are the pick to get it done at home. Pick: Houston 111 LA Clippers 103
