NBA Western Conference Championship Betting: Nuggets vs Warriors Odds Preview

We have reached the NBA Playoffs, as the final play-in games are completed on Friday evening. Our matchup is the three seed against the six seed in the Western Conference, which includes the Denver Nuggets and the Golden State Warriors. This game is set for an 8:30 p.m. (ET) start on Saturday night, the final game of the day.

The Denver Nuggets come into the NBA Playoffs as the six seed in the Western Conference. The Nuggets finished the regular season with a record of 48-34. Nikola Jokic has been the star for Denver and could be in the running for the MVP.

The Golden State Warriors are back in the playoffs and back to the upper echelons of the Western Conference. Golden State dominated the NBA for a few years with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant, but now Curry and Thompson have them back and towards the top of the conference. The Warriors claimed the three seed in the playoffs this year. Let’s have a look at both teams and how they arrive to this first game so you can make your bets against their NBA Playoffs Odds.

Denver Nuggets vs Golden State Warriors – Game One Preview | NBA Playoffs Betting

Denver Nuggets Notes

In the much-heated debate, by the talks around the league, Nikola Jokic will be named the MVP of the 2021-22 season in the NBA. Jokic leads the Nuggets in practically every category including points per game, assists per game, and field goal percentage. Not to mention the fact that he leads the team in rebounds, blocks, and steals.

Respectively, Jokic is averaging 27.1 points per game, 13.8 rebounds, and 7.9 assists. Aaron Gordon also plays a big role for the Nuggets this season, who averages 15 points per game in 31.7 minutes per game. Denver has a flurry of role players as well to help the team operate.

Ending the regular season, the Nuggets were 2-3 in their last five games. With a second-place finish in the Northeast Division, the Nuggets are looking to make some noise in the playoffs this year. Denver made the playoffs last season and beat Portland in the first round but were swept by the Western Conference champions in the second round, the Phoenix Suns.

Golden State Warriors Notes

For the first time since 2019, the Golden State Warriors are back in the NBA Playoffs. The last time the Warriors were in the playoffs, they lost to the Toronto Raptors in the NBA Finals. Kevin Durant had made few appearances in that playoffs due to his Achilles injury.

The Warriors dominated a stretch of five years where they appeared in five straight NBA Finals, winning two of them. While most of the players from those great runs are gone, the main core is still intact. Curry, Thompson, and Draymond Green are one again taking this Golden State team to the playoffs. You could not ask for a better veteran core than the three players from Golden State.

Curry leads the Warriors in points per game this season, averaging 25.5 points per game. Kevon Looney has taken big steps forward for Golden State in the last few seasons, as he played in all 82 games this season and led the team in rebounds per game with an average of 7.3 boards.

Nuggets vs Warriors Odds and Lines

  • Spread: Warriors -6.5
  • Money Line: Warriors -255 / Nuggets +205
  • Over/Under: 222.5

This is a series that we like Golden State to win. Golden State will have to find a matchup for Jokic, but if they can limit his looks, the Warriors can very easily win this series.
