Top Bracket Busters

UCLA went 9-2 in their final 11 regular-season games. The Bruins also finished a game behind Oregon in the Pac-12. Unless they implode in the conference tournament, they get a bid. Expect UCLA to grab a 12-seed. They can bust up brackets as a 12-seed.

Utah State also figures to get a 12-seed. The Aggies finished the season with a 26-8 record. They’re the second-best team in the Mountain West Conference. They’re also just 1-of-2 teams to beat San Diego State this season. Take the Aggies seriously as a big-time bracket buster.

Top Cinderellas 2020 March Madness

We’ve got 3 teams that qualify as Cinderellas. Houston, LSU, and Arizona should grab 8-seed or 9-seeds. Among the 3, the team to pay the most attention to are the Houston Cougars. The Cougs went 23-8 and won the AAC Regular Season. They had a nice 2019 NCAA Tournament.

LSU has a 21-10 record. They finished tied with Auburn in second place in the SEC Regular Season. The Tigers are in no matter what they do in the SEC Tournament. They’re under the radar but are good enough to make noise in the Big Dance.

Arizona has had major ups and downs. The Wildcats will enter the Pac-12 Tournament cold. They finished the regular season going 1-4 SU. But, Zona battled Gonzaga and Baylor tough early on in the season. They also beat Illinois, Colorado, and USC. Illinois and Colorado will make it to the NCAA Tournament. USC should get a bid. If Sean Miller has the Cats playing their best, they could put on the glass slipper.

Top Sleepers

The two Big Ten teams on this list had late-season swoons that should make them 6-seeds or 7-seeds. Both Penn State and Michigan rocked it early. Both can return to those pre-conference tournament play days. The Nittany Lions, especially, could be a top sleeper in whichever bracket they end up.

This season, Colorado challenged Oregon for the top spot in the Pac-12. But, the Buffs finished the regular season losing 4 straight. That sent them to a 21-10 overall and 10-8 conference record. If they can right the sinking ship during the Pac-12 Tournament, Colorado figures to have momentum heading to the Big Dance. Don’t look past the Buffalos to provide a deep NCAA Tournament run.
