College Basketball Best Bets Today For Friday

Written by on January 20, 2023

The end of the college basketball regular season is now very much on the horizon, so we have reached the time where every win and loss somehow feel bigger than ever. As we do every week, we will be looking at the Friday schedule to see if we can pick out some winners. Fridays tend to be a little bit tougher to handicap given that it’s mostly smaller schools that play on this night. However, we’re always up for the challenge, and we have 4 games that I think are worth a look for your College Basketball betting Odds, so let’s get to it.

Central Connecticut Blue Devils at Wagner Seahawks (-4 ½)

The Blue Devils are one team that are certainly not thinking about the postseason, as they are having a bit of a nightmare season at 4-16. While they are well off the pace being set by their opponent here, they have the same 2-3 record as Wagner in conference play. The Seahawks are coming off a win that snapped a 3-game losing skid, while central Connecticut has lost 2 in a row. The Seahawks are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 Friday games, and with home court advantage, I think they improve on that record.

Boise State Broncos at New Mexico Lobos (-2 ½)

This is arguably the best looking game on the Friday night schedule, as both of these teams are playing good basketball and in the hunt for the Mountain West regular season title. Boise State is currently sitting on top in the MW, going 5-1 in conference play, but the Lobos can shrink the gap with a win that would take them to 5-2 in the conference. The Lobos have won 14 of their last 15 at home and I think they win a close one here, covering the spread in the process.

Niagara Purple Eagles at Rider Broncos – OVER 127 ½

Both of these teams are still within striking distance of the top spot in the Metro Atlantic, but it’s also fair to suggest that the loser of this one might well fall out of the running. That alone makes this one intriguing. Both teams have not been very good of late and could use a win. Niagara is on a 3-game losing skid, and while Rider won last time out, that victory snapped them out of a 3-game losing streak. The OVER has hit in 5 of the last 6 Friday games played by Niagara, with 6 of Rider’s last 9 at home also going OVER.

Toledo Rockets at Buffalo Bulls – Under 169 ½

Both of these teams are at 3-2 in conference play and within striking distance of the leader in the Mid-American Conference, but the loser of this one is going to probably need to be perfect the rest of the way to have any chance of seriously challenging for the regular season crown. When you first glance at the trends, you automatically think OVER, but the number here is high, and a deeper dive might send you the other way. Most notably, Buffalo has seen all of their last 14 Friday night home games go UNDER the point total.
