College Basketball Expert Picks: Kansas at Oklahoma

Written by on January 9, 2017

When we roll into a New Year, we enter the second half of the college basketball season, which means that it’s time to start getting conference play started. This is the time of year where teams who have had a good run of things in non-conference play can suddenly see a reversal in fortunes that sees them start to spiral downwards. It’s also when we really start to get a feel for who may be ready to make a deep run once March Madness rolls around. This week gets started with a good match-up in the Big-12 conference, with number 3 ranked Kansas going on the road to face and Oklahoma team that has struggled in their opening 3 games of online betting conference action. The Sooners are in a bit of a freefall at the moment, but you can bet that the Jayhawks will still not be taking this team lightly. These are exactly the types of games that can serve as a banana peel for teams that are high-flying, but who come in just a little too confident.

Here’s A Closer Look At The College Basketball Expert Picks: Jayhawks at Sooners

Why bet on the Kansas Jayhawks

Kansas started their year with a loss to Indiana, which seemed to wake them up, as they have now gone 14 straight games without defeat. The Jayhawks and the Baylor Bears are the only two teams in the Big-12 to go unbeaten in conference play so far, although we are only 3 games in. It has not exactly been easy for Kansas, though, in those three games, as they were pushed to the limit by both TCU and Kansas State before having an easier time of things in their last game versus Texas Tech. This will be just the 4th away game of the season for Kansas Jayhawks, who are perfect on the road so far. They are 5-8-0 in lined games this season.

Why bet on the Oklahoma Sooners

To say that the Sooners are struggling right now is putting things rather mildly, as they come into this week on a 6-game losing skid, which includes an 0-3 start to conference play. They have had two games against ranked opponents, Wisconsin and Baylor, so far this season, and have lost both of them. The Sooners, whilst a game above .500 on home court, have lost their last 4 outings in Norman. This is a team in desperate need of a win in order to get some of their early season confidence back, but it’s hard to imagine them being able to hang with a team as good as the Jayhawks.

Expert Pick and Final Score Prediction

These are two teams heading in totally different directions right now, and I think things are about to get worse for the Sooners before they start getting any better. Kansas really shouldn’t have any issues here, and I like them to start pulling away in the second half.
