Why Bet on Gonzaga

Gonzaga remained unbeaten by smacking Loyola Marymount senseless in their 90-60 blowout win on Thursday night as Nigel Williams-Goss scored 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in his first game back after missing a game due to a sprained ankle.

“He’s special,” Gonzaga coach Mark Few said of Williams-Goss, who had 10 points and nine rebounds by halftime. “He deserves to be an All-American. He’s a leader of a team that’s 25-0.”

Johnathan Williams added 13 points for the Bulldogs while Killian Tillie, Jordan Mathews and Zach Collins all added 11 points for Gonzaga.

Why Bet on St. Mary’s

St. Mary’s has won seven straight games, including their 51-41 win over Portland despite failing to cover the spread as a whopping 24-point home favorite. Saint Marys got a team-high 13 from Jock Landale while Emmett Naar added 11 points in the win and Joe Rahon, 10 points.

Expert Prediction and Pick

I’m hoping St. Mary’s can hand Gonzaga their first loss of the season, the more I look into this matchup, the more I can see he Bulldogs getting the win and ATS cover. The Bulldogs are 9-1 ATS in their last 10 Saturday games and a bankroll-boosting 24-5-1 ATS in their last 30 games overall.

More importantly, the Zags average nearly 14 points per game more than the Gaels while allowing just six more points per game defensively. I love St. Mary’s second-ranked defense (56.6 ppg) but the Gaels are too offensively-challenged to keep up with the high-scoring Bulldogs.

Pick:  Gonzaga 80 St. Mary’s 72
