The Creighton Blue Jays (22-12) meet the Baylor Bears (23-10) in Sunday’s second round of the NCAA Tournament. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:10 p.m. ET at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.

Creighton, the No. 6 seed in the South Region, advanced to the second round with a 72-63 victory over NC State on Friday. Center Ryan Kalkbrenner posted a team-high 31 points on 11-of-14 shooting with seven rebounds and two assists.

Baylor, the No. 3 seed in the South, reached the second round with a relatively easy 74-56 win over the University of Santa Barbara. Adam Flagler led the team in scoring with 18 points.

Creighton finished third in the Big East with a 14-6 record. They’re 6-4 in their last ten games, during which time they’ve averaged 75.9 points per game while shooting 45.4 percent from the field. They’ve limited opponents to 71.4 points per game.

Creighton is 2-5 in games decided by three points or fewer this season. They rank 62nd in the country in PPG and facilitate the ball well. The Blue Jays are 22nd in assists per game at 15.9. Canadian Ryan Nembhard leads the team with 4.9 assists per game.

Mason Miller left the Blue Jays’ first-round game with an ankle injury and is questionable for Sunday’s game. He’s a valuable presence off the bench, averaging 2.4 points and 1.7 rebounds per game.

Bears Betting Preview

Baylor ranks 54th in the nation with 77.1 PPG and has the 10th-best offensive rating (115.8). They’re also one of the best three-point shooting teams in the league, averaging 9.6 per game with an efficiency of 37.1 percent.

Flager and guard Keyonte George lead the Bears in scoring 15.6 PPG. LJ Cryer averages 14.5 PPG on 44.4 percent shooting.

Baylor responded with a big win in the first round of the NCAA Tournament after dropping back-to-back decisions against Iowa State to end the regular season. Baylor is 6-4 in their last ten games and shooting 45.4 percent from the field during those games.

Blue Jays vs. Bears Betting Odds and Prediction

It’s a pick-em between the Blue Jays and Bears as of early Saturday morning. The lines may change, but expect this to be no more than a 1.5-point spread. Both teams are listed at -110 on the spread and moneyline. The over/under is 146.

Baylor won the national championship in 2021 and is looking to go through the tournament to win for the second time in three years. This will be a close one, and Creighton is just 2-5 in games decided by three points or fewer. Take the Bears in a pick-em or even -1.5 point spread. The over (-110) is another solid bet.
