On Jan. 4, Kansas won at Oklahoma State 74-63. Kansas shot 70.8% from the field in the second half, helping the Jayhawks overcome a scoreless streak of more than 9 1/2 minutes overall. David McCormack had 17 points and a career-high 15 rebounds and Ochai Agbaji scored 16 points for KU, which made seven straight shots during a 20-8 run early in the second half that put the Jayhawks — who were tied 29-29 at halftime — back ahead by double digits. Oklahoma State came no closer than six points the rest of the way. Isaac Likekele led Oklahoma State with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Kansas now leads the all-time series against Oklahoma State, KU coach Bill Self’s alma mater, by a 120-60 margin.

Why Bet on Oklahoma State?

The Cowboys (12-12) beat West Virginia 81-58 on Saturday. OSU took a 36-30 lead after Tyreek Smith’s layup at the buzzer capped a 5-0 run to close out the first half. Bryce Williams had back-to-back layups to end a 16-2 spurt to open the second half, giving the Cowboys a 52-32 lead with 13:47 remaining. West Virginia never threatened from there.

The Cowboys shot 48% overall but hit just 3 of 13 from beyond the arc. West Virginia shot 32% overall and made 7 of 27 from distance (26%). Oklahoma State outscored the Mountaineers 40-16 in the paint. OSU has held its opponent to less than 60 points in all five of its conference wins.

Avery Anderson III and Bryce Thompson have led the scoring effort over the past five games as Anderson has posted 11.4 points per game while Thompson has averaged 12.4. On the boards it has been Moussa Cisse leading the charge with 6.2 per game.

During the stretch in which OSU has posted a 2-3 record, starts haven’t been the issue. OSU has outscored its five foes 174-168 in the first half (+6). The Cowboys have also finished the second half strong, where they have outscored foes 184-174 (+10) during the final 20 minutes of action.

OSU has forced a turnover on 23.8 percent of defensive possessions, which is 15^th best in the country. If teams haven’t turned the ball over first, they’re also getting blocked on 15.1 percent of their possessions, the 12th-most in the country. OSU hasn’t given up many easy looks inside the three-point line, leading to teams shooting 44.6 percent from inside the arc, the 16th-lowest percentage in the country.

Kansas (20-4) beat Oklahoma 71-69 on Saturday. The Sooners closed to 70-69 before Jalen Wilson hit a free throw. Jordan Goldwire’s jumper in the last seconds caromed away for Oklahoma. Neither team got much production from its bench. Oklahoma had just eight points for its reserves while Kansas had only three.

Wilson had 22 points to lead the way. Christian Braun had 18 points for Kansas. The Jayhawks have now won 20 or more games for 33 consecutive seasons, a streak that began in 1989-90 and is the longest-active streak in NCAA Division I.

Wilson has scored in double figures nine times this season. Christian Braun recorded 18 points on 6-of-10 (60.0 percent) shooting, eight rebounds and three blocks in 36 minutes. Braun has at least three blocks in four games this season. He is the first Kansas guard to do so since Josh Jackson had 3+ blocks in four games during the 2016-17 season.

Ochai Agbaji contributed 11 points, six rebounds and three assists in 38 minutes. He now has 1,378 career points which moves him into 27th on the all-time KU scoring list, passing Richard Scott, Adonis Jordan and Marcus Morris. His 216 career three-point field goals have him at seventh on the all-time KU list.

David McCormack added 11 points on 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) and four rebounds in 18 minutes of action. McCormack has scored in double figures in 13 games this season, including six in Big 12 play. Zach Clemence returned after missing the last nine games with a foot injury. He scored three points and grabbed three rebounds in nine minutes off the bench.

Kansas leads the Big 12 in scoring offense (80.0 ppg), which is 20^th nationally, in field goal percentage (49.6%, sixth nationally) and three-point field goal percentage (36.1%).
