NCAAB Betting Predictions – Pac-12 Matchups To Must Watch this Weekend

No. 23 Colorado (11-4) at Washington State (9-5)

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 at 8:00 PM ET
  • Where: Friel Court at Beasley Coliseum, Pullman, WA
  • TV: ESPN2

No. 23 in the coaches poll, Colorado had its four-game winning streak snapped in its narrow, 84-80 road loss against Washington on Wednesday. Senior forward Jeriah Horne scored a season-high 24 points for Colorado, but missed an open 3-pointer with seven seconds left that could have tied the game. Junior forward Evan Battey added 18 points, but senior point guard and leading scorer, McKinley Wright IV was held to 12 points. Colorado coach Tad Boyle called it one of his more disappointing losses.

“The offense was not the issue. Even though it wasn’t great it wasn’t the issue,” Boyle said. “The issue was on the other end of the floor, which is something we hang our hat on, but there was no hook tonight.”

Washington State has lost four straight and five of six including a 71-56 home loss against Utah on Thursday night. Sophomore guard Noah Williams scored a team-high 17 points while freshman center Efe Abogidi added 12 points, but those were the only two Cougars to reach double figures in scoring in the loss. Washington State shot 38 percent from the field in the loss.

Expert Analysis and Prediction

Washington State and Colorado have alternated wins and losses over the last six meetings with the Cougars recording an 82-68 road win the last time they met in March. This time around, Colorado is clearly the better team as they average almost eight points per game more than Washington State while allowing three fewer points per game defensively.

Washington State is 0-6 ATS in its last six road games and 0-7 SU in its last seven road dates against Colorado. The Buffaloes have gone 5-2 ATS in their last seven games and 13-6 ATS in their last 19 conference games. Colorado wins by double digits!

Pick: Colorado 78 Washington State 68

Oregon State (7-5) at No. 21 Oregon (9-2)

  • When: Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021 at at 10:30 PM ET
  • Where: Matthew Knight Arena, Eugene, OR
  • TV: PAC12

Oregon State has won two straight and comes into this matchup fresh off a narrow 58-56 home win over USC on Tuesday night. Sophomore guard Jarod Lucas and senior backcourt mate Ethan Thompson scored 13 points apiece to help Oregon State snap the Trojans’ six-game winning streak.

Oregon has won nine of its last 10 games including a 79-73 road win over Utah in their last game on Jan. 9. Trailing by 10 points at the break, Oregon picked up its intensity in the second half to outscore Utah 46-30 to get the win. Senior guard Chris Duarte scored a team-high 25 points and Eric Williams Jr. added 19 to lift the Ducks to the win.

“We needed a good start to the half after finishing the first half so poorly,” Oregon coach Dana Altman said. “We needed something good to get our heads up and get guys on the same page.”

Expert Analysis and Prediction

Believe it or not, Oregon State had won three straight in this Pac-12 rivalry until losing to Oregon 69-54 when they last met in February. Right now though, Oregon is the far better team in this matchup. While Oregon State has gone 0-5 SU in its last five road games, Oregon has won 20 consecutive home games while going 12-6 ATS in its last 18 games. I like the Ducks to win this affair by double digits.

Pick: Oregon 79 Oregon State 68
