If you are still on the fence, then it may help to have an idea of which teams are dominating the NCAA Basketball Championship betting odds right now, and why. Let’s take a look at some of the favorites for the 2018 March Madness tournament.

Updated NCAA Basketball Championship Odds – March 7th Edition

Virginia Cavaliers

The Virginia Cavaliers have only lost 2 games all season long, but perhaps more importantly, they have the best defensive record in college basketball, giving up just 52.8 PPG. They finished the regular season ranked as the #1 team in the nation, a position that thy held for much of the second half. It is going to take a very good offensive team to break the Cavaliers down and beat them in the tournament.

Villanova Wildcats

The Wildcats are just a couple of years removed from their last National Championship and are once again in among the favorites to win it all again. They closed out the season with a 27-4 record, good enough to get them into the #2 spot in the nation. They had a relatively early exit in the tournament last season but look better equipped to make another deep run this time around.

Duke Blue Devils

Duke are a team with a rich history in the tournament, winning it as recently as 2015 and making no less than 16 Final Four appearances in their history. With over 85 PPG, Duke have one of the best offenses in the country. They are also giving up less than 70 PPG this year, so there is a balance there that is sure to make them a legitimate threat to make a deep run when March Madness gets started on Tuesday. Are the Blue Devils a safe bet to win the 2018 March Madness tournament?

Michigan State Spartans

If you are a fan of playing teams coming into the tournament on a great run of form, them the Michigan State Spartans are definitely going to be worth a look. They were close to unbeatable in the final few weeks of the season, climbing all the way up to #4 in the process. The Big Ten Conference regular season winners are sound on both the offensive and defensive side of the court, and a very good bet to go deep.

Kansas Jayhawks

The Jayhawks last won the National Championship back in 2008, but they served notice that they might be ready to make another run by winning the Big 12 regular season title. This is another team with a rich history in March Madness, landing in the Final Four 14 times over the years. Offensively strong, they are going to be a difficult team to outscore.

Michigan Wolverines

If you are on the lookout for a dark horse team that you can get at a very good price, then the Michigan Wolverines may well be that team. They finished the season on fire and have the sort of momentum that usually results in a deep run when the serious action begins. Michigan have only won the tournament once, with that win coming in 1989, but this looks like a group ready to make another run.
