2016 NFL Parlay Picks For the Opening Week

If you love betting NFL football, you want to make sure that you get off to a winning start in Week 1 of the season so that you can get a little more creative with your betting as the season progresses. One of the best ways to quickly build your bankroll is by playing some parlays. If you can put together some parlays using the point spreads, you can really boost your bankroll, but I like to take a little bit of a safer approach in the early part of the season by simply choosing a few teams that I really like to win, regardless of their betting odds. This is not to say that I am a safe bettor, it’s just part of my strategy for what is a very long season with a whole bunch of betting opportunities. There will be plenty of chances to win money, so why not ease into things a little to get started. Let’s take a look at 3 or 4 teams that could be added into a parlay ticket in Week 1.

Seahawks over Dolphins

This looks to me like it will be the lock of the week, as the Seattle Seahawks are just very tough to beat in their own building. The Dolphins don’t really seem to have done much to address the issues that saw them fall to a disappointing 6-10 last season. The Dolphins only managed 3 wins on the road last season, which does not bode well against a team that has turned their home field into something of a fortress. The Seahawks would be the first team on my parlay ticket in Week 1.

Texans over Bears

Chicago are coming off a disastrous season, and while I believe they will be better in 2016, they are still a long ways off from being able to compete with the Texans. Houston won the AFC South last season, but they will be looking to quickly rid themselves of the bad taste that was the shellacking at the hands of the Kansas City Chiefs in the Wild Card Game. I think that they can do that, especially now that they may have found their QB of the future in Brock Osweiler.

Colts over Lions

You had to feel a little sorry for Indianapolis last season, as they were forced to play a large portion of the year without QB Andrew Luck at the helm. They still put together a pretty decent season without him, but you have to think that they will take a big step forward in 2016 if Luck can stay healthy. The biggest question mark hanging over the Lions coming into the season is about how the offense will look now that Calvin Johnson has retired. It may take a few weeks for them to settle into a new offensive groove, and I think that means they will lose in Week 1.Alright, so my parlay ticket for Week 1 will feature Seattle, Houston, and Indianapolis, which I hope will put a little extra money in the bank.
